Ever had a airline loose a gun?
So flying cross country this weekend the airline lost my bag with my three sidearms (S&W 642, 92FS, Colt CCO 45) in it. So now I am unclothed and unarmed. It sucks just waiting around for them to "trace" it what the hell. They don't seem to care that somewhere in an airport some place are three firearms yeah they are in a locked case but since the only thing allowed with locks on it now that goes on a plane are gun cases who is to say someone didn't grab it off the luggage claim? I like Alaska Airlines because they don't put guns cases on the conveyor you have to go to the baggage claim counter show photo ID and you claim tag to get them. I tried calling the PA state police to report the guns missing and they told me they can't do anything because the guns where not lost in there state for sure. it has only bee 48 hours but I want it on record that the gun are not in my possession. Anyone have any tips on lighting a fire under American Airlines butt?

Call ATF, the FBI and the local news media, in that order. 0 -
TSA might be interested too. 0 -
Ask the airline rep if he/she would like to call the ATFE or if they'd like for you to.... betcha they find 'em quick. 0 -

There is a good chance they got ripped off by bag handlers. TSA guys are sometimes tempted by the dark side. Giving a heads up to the bad guys that the brown case going to flight 2343 is full of guns. WHOOPS it got "LOST."
I agree about AK airlines I flew in 100's of flights with them; never lost a bag. Guns were always handled with TLC.0 -
I would defineatly call the Feds. Forget the locals. You guns may not have even been loaded on the plane. Get names of people when you speak and get a document from AA that you don't have them. 0 -
They dont care period, its not theirs, and they dont want to do the paperwork.
Now for my 2 cents.
This is a perfect case where a registered cheapo suppressor in the luggage would get their attenion.
And the feds and locals would become involved, cause they dont want it in their city.
Forcing them to investigate the loss.

don't put anything of real value on a plane. 0 -

If that advice were to be followed, I would hope most planes would be flying without passengers.[;)]0 -
A few years ago when I still worked in the UK and commuted from my home in the bay area.I used to book in at heathrow, the customs would serial numbers with Scotland Yard, case was locked put on the plane and locked up in the pilots cabin so I was told.We woul land in san francisco and the cased rifles woul not even come round on the carousel it would just be dumped on the floor from a moving luggage carrier. No security check or signin for it.Mind you this was pre 911. 0 -
Good luck. I hope you get your guns returned.
I think the airlines will only pay about $100 for each lost bag......
In October I flew from Denver to Chi. Ohare with cased rifles. I waited and waited by the carousel for the rifles. I asked an employee about it and she directed me to another "odd size" claim area. I just picked up my case and left. No claim check no nothing.
Good luck,
