"You Talkin' To ME???!!!" Travis Nunn Or Bickel?

Travis was issued a sidearm. A rifle is a little clumsy for getting around in and out of an armored vehicle, so he got himself a pistol. It's a girlie little 9mm, but he feels special.

I see lots of pics of officers with pistols in shoulder holsters. He said he uses a hip holster. "Shoulder holsters look gay."

Getting in and out of hatches in armor will show him the value of a shoulder holster when the barrel on the hip holser gets snagged.

Sorry...Colt ain't even in the running for the new pistol; actually, the whole 1911 platform is disqualified. Odds are it'll be a polymer-framed double-stack in .45ACP. Supposedly, the new HK45 is on the inside track, but time will tell.

As a radio tech used as a radio operator, when they sent me in the field.

I carried a 1911a1, M16, a PRC41 radio & 2 spare 30 lb batteries.
A PIA if stateside.
A blessing if incountry, but still a PIA.

Keep the M16 close by.

That shoulder holster may provide some level of protection to the upper body, don't know for sure. Much easier to access quickly I would think, in tight quarters.
