The price of guns will definately go up as the price of the metal goes up. Gun prices have been going up for a long time, and will continue to do so.

Thought so. Guess I have another reason to buy more guns this year.

I fear the cost of ammo will go up because of an "ammo tax" not the cost of metal. "The man" doesn't have to outlaw guns, he just has to tax the ammo to a point where we can afford any. Stock up guys!

if the price of guns goes up(more than the average inflation), polymer guns will become more popular merely by their price. then as more and more people by glocks, they will see what a superior gun feels like and will spread the word. soon, we will be strong enough to take over the WORLD!!!!!!!

i wonder...if they institute a special ammo tax, how will that work with handloads. will they tax every component(bad) or a particular component(could be very good). if its just a component, it would be beneficial to us, the shooters, if they taxed the brass. i have no idea how many time you can load a brass case, but im sure its enough to ofset the tax....

IMHO thats one of the problems now with the high price's of firearms. They (the Manufacture's know we will pay their price what ever the cost. And with all of these companies buying out the competition I expect prices to go up regardless. My 2 pennies!!

Even now, the cost of the gun is a pittance compared to what you spend on ammo. I think we'll sooner be priced out of ammo than guns, because steel isn't so precious a commodity as copper.

That's why I shoot 9mm and 22lr, because 9mm is half the price of the other calibers, and I can still get 5000 rounds of 22lr for $100

Cast your own bullets. Wheelweights are free, or new lead is about $.30 a pound. 100 bullets for about $2 that way at the 150 gr. range. 'Nough said.

    Plastic guns suck!
I hate them!, I hate them!
I doubt that a plastic gun will ever be collectiable.
But I have been wrong before.
Real weapons are made of good old steel.

When you run out of ammo try beating your plastic gun frame into a spearhead.
    Lots O Luck

Guess you could burn the plastic frames, to cover your retreat.

figure infaltion and cost of living probably has to do with more of that. I dont know what inflation is at, 5%? COLA is usually 3-5% raise. SO if you look at 8% on a 400 dollar gun next year you will pay 36 dollars more, of course metal might be short, i dont think thats the key factor
