Watched "Dog Whisperer" on the tube last night. Someone had a somewhat
aggressive pitbul they wanted him to work with, and within a couple
days, he had this dog behaving like all dogs should.

For those that have never seen the show: he handled it pretty much as
I would've. The dog's main problem was being aggresive toward other
dogs when the owners walked it, so he took it for a walk in their own
neighborhood. The guy is very physically fit, and when the dog started
to go off on the usual dogs (in a fenced yard) that it always did, he
tried to correct it. It then went of on him, and he calmly choked the
dog down with his own lead...never getting excited, and talking/explaining
everthing in the process. A few times of that, and basically making
the dog mind - problem solved.

Had someone else that had a dog that jerked the girls all around when
trying to walk it in the neighborhood. Turns out, the girls are giving
this dog the full 6-8ft. of lead to cut it's shinanigans on.
DW just give it a short lead and basically made it mind.

Maybe it's because I was raised traing coon hounds for show, or not...
but it's not a hard concept. You have to spend time with the dogs, let
them know what's acceptible and what's not - and enforce it.
