Execution by Lethal Injection Assailed as Inhumane

IMO, Americans somehow manage to get their priorities jumbled, losing complete sight of the purpose and intentions behind this method. Personally, I can't think of any method of execution that is completely pleasant to endure and as swift to complete as Mercury himself.

    Of course, we are very humane to animals when we use similar means to put them down. I was there when the vet put down my dog last year. It was the same method -- anesthesia first, poison second.

    Funny how it is humane to put down a loved dog this way, but inhumane to put down a murderous thug in the same manner.

    Bring back the guillotine. The blade cuts off the central nervous system first, that way they never feel anything.

    Hang them and reuse the rope. Why waste so much money on trash, they never felt if it was inhuman when they butchered somebody.

    One would think that the method of lethal injection would be universally refined across all the states that use it so that the execution procedure and protocol are basically "automatic" once the warrant is read and the button is pushed.

    Instead, every state somehow manages to turn the method of lethal injection into a subjective "art" form. Which, in turn, creates more problems that beget this sort of nonsense and bring about the many inconsistencies that continue to fuel the capital punishment debate and encourage lawsuits from the condemned.

    Same crap happened with the electric chair. The people throwing the switch got fat, stupid or just plain lazy and managed to turn a century-old method of reasonably swift execution into a horror show for the witnesses and the press to feast upon.

    Perhaps the wrong type of people are in charge of defining and administering these processes.

    Where's a good rope man when you need one?

    Why in He** should we worry about being more humane than the crime that got the crap head there in the first place? There was a time when the punishment was designed to fit the crime, as it still should be.

    How many times have you heard it? "The punishment should fit the crime." That's a wonderful, beautiful statement. Anyone who messes with it should accept the punishment for the criminal if they don't want HIM to accept it.

    this is a very interesting read on botched executions, even lethal injection can go awry, but i myself feel nothing for their suffering, i do not believe it needs to be humane at all

    Actually, I believe the punishment should be far worse than
    the crime, torture may even be in order. Maybe this would deter
    some of it.
