Govt. Better to Illegals Than to Citizens.
Many of you already know that our govt. is not doing nearly enough to stop the flood of illegal aliens (illegal aliens. NOT "undocumented guest workers"). Many of our representatives act like it is just plain impossible to exert ANY control over the illegals. Other representatives even appear to be sympathtic and welcoming to the illegals. Well, it gets worse.
A few months ago Congress passed a passport law as nothing much more than window dressing to demonstrate their "tough" stand on illegal immergration. For the first time in hundreds of years, all American citizens now must have a valid USA passport to get back into the USA if and when they go for a visit in Mexico and Canada. Now this new law might be fine, except for one thing. Because Congress did not plan very well for putting the new requirement in place, millions of good Americans that have made plans long ago to go for a business trip or a vacation to Mexico or Canada CANNOT OBTAIN A PASSPORT TO ALLOW THEM TO COME HOME. Reason being that there is a huge backlog of requests for passports. Guess congress did not think that far ahead.
This delay in many cases means that Americans who have scheduled time off from work, paid for vacations in advance, have important business meetings, or are now facing missing the pleasure of being with other family members, who already have a passport, when they go to Mexico or Canada for their family vacation.
This whole flawed proceedure, yet another giant mistake by our government, also seems to be patterned after the never-ending attempts at more and more gun control laws. Meaning that with this passport requirement, the government appears to have given up on controlling the flow of illegals because that flow is so "difficult" to control. So instead, the government directs it enforcement efforts at the one group the CAN control: the lawful, American citizens.
Just as the government has basically admitted they cannot control criminals by passing more laws. So instead they pass more and more laws that only cause problems and burdens for the already peaceful, lawful citizens.
To give you an idea of the outrage that is out there among our citziens, here is a copy of a letter my co-worker sent to his congressman:
Your office has been advised. My spouse expects your assistance. I expect your absolute attention...
I'm the grandson of a congressman. A 3rd generation Marine ...a former personal bodyguard for ambassador Henry Cabet Lodge & President Johonson. My stepson is a Marine. My wife has spent 25 years at KU. I deployed for OSA & offed more Vietnamese then you want to count. My family has tried to get a passport for 120+ days to no avail. You're fixin' to sanction millions of illegal aliens into my country & my wife will be unable to get back!
You're so far out of touch you'd best rethink the term "anarchy".

It is a good post and good letter. But......?
I don't think threats, or perceived threats work with these people, and I always find that if you state your case in a fair and meaningfull way they will listen. If you threaten them they just get defensive and shut down. They really don't seem to fear us or worry that we might do something irrational.0 -

Actually, a good ol revolution wouldn't be "irrational"
at all. They have shown the public time and again that that's
the kind of action it will take to be heard.0
