My boyfriend wants to get a CCW.
My boyfriend wants to get a CCW. I think it's great. I've been carrying for awhile.
He wants a 38 special, but wants one with a safety.
I think he should get a 45 Glock. He likes the Glock, but likes the 38 snub nose better.
I told him I can't carry a more manly gun than him. I think the Glock is a good idea since I carry one and our clips will interchange.
So lets hear the agruments. Shouldn't we carry the same gun. If he doesn't go 45 Glock I may change to what he decides to carry.

Let him get the gun that he wants, or shall I say the gun that fits him best. I personally do not like the Glock, there is nothing wrong with the gun, it just doesent fit my hand. So let him pik out the gun that fits him the best.

It might be convenient to carry guns that share compatible magazines but I think it's better that each carries the gun with which he/she is most comfortable.
More manly? Whatever. The manliest gun is the one that you can use most effectively. That might be a .454 or that might be a .22 mag.0 -

S$W model 36 since 1972
Same bullets in it.
They probable won't even fire
now. Tried a commander and then
an officers model I had built
but always go back to
the Smith .

I understand his fondness for 38 snubbies. They are comfortable, reliable, and accurate. If you want him to carry a more "manly" gun, look into a 357 lightweight snubbie.
Why does he want one with a safty? Are you talking of the lockable hammer safty device on new revolvers or a traditional switchable safety? Either way, that limits his choices.0 -

Yeah, I think CGR just broke a lot of hearts here today.
Whatever the guy shoots best and can carry comfortably is the best gun for him.
Defining one's manliness through choice of caliber could be construed as "compensating". And you don't want folks thinking that, do you?

Not that I feel that I "need" to carry,but it would give me a good excuse to go out get another gun since all of my handguns are way to big to be concealable.

Scandium Smith and Wesson 357...he can put 38spl in it and its a VERY coooool little gun! 0 -
A 38 with a safety I dont know if I have ever seen a revolver with a safety. If he wants to carry a 45 is not going to work. people do it yes, but in summer clothes it wont happen. He probably should get a 357 that way he can do both 357 and 38 special. Ruger has a good model. If your looking at an auto for conceal, your probably going to look at a 32, 38 or 9mm. I have a Kel Tec p11 9mm, it hold 10+1. And is about the size of my hand. Simple gun, but does its job and cost only about 270 0
