Anyone heard of this Handgun?

I came across it at my Great Aunts who's had it for many many yrs. The box and all papers ae included but show age,the Gun is a .22 caliber and the box says RG IND. INC. The gun says Model RG23. Can anyone tell me anything about this gun? The gun is in 98%+ condition.

    When you Google up "60's-70's era cheap Saturday Night Special" it'll probably show a pic of an RG.

    RG's are junk. my first gun was an rg 38. after awhile the cylinder would skip. i finally destroyed it with a sledge hammer.

    If I remember correctly, that's the gun that Hink the Kink used to shoot Pres. Reagan in 1981. Sad to say it worked well enough that day.

    I had a lady my wife used to work with bring me a pistol to clean and put fresh ammo in. It was an RG .25 auto. It was still in the original box with the receipt where he bought it, I believe in Italy, in 1943 or 1944. It was made out of steel with plastic grips. I was really suprised by th quality of the little gun in spite of the RG on the grips. I cleaned it and test fired it and loaded it with fresh ammo for her. Nice little gun. I tried to give her $50.00 for it but she would not take it.

    RG is a classic "Saturday Night Special". Cheap, and Cheaply made with pot metal with a steel cylinder and a steel barrel insert. Wouldn't depend my life on one. I have one that was given to me that I keep in the garage with rat shot in it.

    Them are the guns people should take to those "guns off the street" the local PD has every now and then[:D]. Could've gotten free food for a junker.

    Yes it was, an RG14 in fact. The problem is nobody will bid on them because to get that "25.00-tacklebox-gun" in your hands you have to pay 30.00 for shipping and then the transfer fee on your end and by then you have a 80-100 POS. I'd give somebody 25.00 for a FTF.

    They used to sell for $14.95 in the 60's. Dangerous on both ends.
