I gotta dumb question - Cell phones
I know a bunch of states require/will require cell phone "Hands Free" systems at some point.
But my question is, what if you have the Walkie-Talkie type phone and use that function, still illegal? I had to ask because I know of no laws banning/talking on 2 way radios in a car truck etc.
Just think it's odd I can yak all I wish on my GMRS mobile radio all I want while driving.

This will be one of those "gray areas".
In Indiana "trucks" were exempted from the seatbelt law. Is an SUV a truck? Well it depends on what type of license plate you put on it, passenger vehicle or truck.0 -

Police instant message on laptops while driving, but they're "trained professionals.
Yeah right, they stop to type messages.

Heard through a reliable source that the chief of police here advised his force not to be the first officer to write someone up for a cell phone unless there were aggravating factors; accident, erratic driving, etc.
18 months since the law took effect - no one has gotten a ticket yet.0 -

I don't know the first thing about cell phones. but I'd guess older types would be "grandfathered", they can't tell everybody to throw them away because you can't plug something into it. 0
