    I don't get gifts anymore. Dad is dead and mom resides in a nursing home. I now have the mentality of looking at the costs of things. I "try" to spend my money on things I can use for practical purposes. I am just weird that way.

    This is totally different than any of the other Crown Royal offerings and I find it better suited to an after dinner drink rather than drinking it like a whisky. Special Reserve is CRs higher end whisky which costs around $50+ (at least around here)and is my choice from the CR line. Crown Royal's top of the line XR runs about $150+ and that is a lot of money to spend on a Candaian whisky, even a very good one.

    I bought a fifth of the Reserve for about $70. Haven't ever seen the Cask 16 kind to even know the price.

    Friend of mine's step father brought her 11 empty crown royal bottles that he and his buddies devoured the contents of at the hunting club over the first half of duck season. She took a string of 25 miniature christmas lights and stuffed them into the bottles (after they were properly drained of every molecule of the original contents)and puugged them in. Makes a nice decoration with the blinking lights reflecting off of the angles cut into the glass.

    Got some stuff here made in Haywood County, North Carolina. Clear as water but beads up nice. Aged a couple of weeks, maybe more. Comes in a Mason jar. Key ingredient is corn.
