how would you handle this gang of bikers
i know my car would become a weapon real fast

(Maryland Heights, MO) Large groups of motorcycle riders continue to frighten drivers on area highways. Over the past few several weeks, police have received numerous calls from motorists who are being harassed by bikers. Drivers have reported incidents involved being run off the road, surrounded by motorcycles, mirrors broken off, and even a brick thrown through a window. These gangs are comprised of as many as 75 bikers who are able to slow down major interstates as the stretch across the highway.
Officials with the Missouri Highway Patrol say that it's best to call *55 instead of 9-1-1 because they are better able to track you down with GPS and can have an officer on your location quicker. They also suggest you slow down, but not stop. It's also important to try and get a good description of the bikes, including license plate numbers if they have them.

Isn't there a trunk monkey for this situation?
If not...get this option for your SUV.[:D]

Someone throw a brick through my window they are likely to get run over or see my pistol. In my opinion throwing a brick through my window is very brazen and that would make me honestly wonder how far will they go before they stop. 0 -
It sounds to me that she performed a maneuver that was dangerous to the bikers.
She should drive more cautiously.0 -
We have called cops many times on other drivers being idiots, they say "OK There is a cop ahead of you, Stay with the driver until the cop is able to take your position."
I wonder what they'd do if you slammed the brake and spun the wheel in their direction? [}:)]

I would try to run from them. If they cornered me or followed me to my house and threatened my life or the life of my family, then I would defend myself. 0 -
I don't care how many bikers there are, they are fools to take on a car. I'm sure some have guns and as soon as the car fights back, those will start firing, but still, the first ones are buzzard bait, and the car drive may fire back.
Idiots!0 -

+1 Could not have said it better myself. They throw a brick at me, they're going to eat asphalt. I'd say it was self defense. Their bikes would lose to my 2500 and 3500 Dodges.0 -
28 years ago i worked in ben salem township near phila., i stayed in the oak ford inn, in rooms above the bar. and the pagans and warlords were in that area and caused trouble some times, i carried a m-1 carbine with three 30 round clips in the car at all times. even though i never needed it ,i felt better having it with me. i thought if there were any left after 90 shots i would just leave. eastbank. 0 -

How about just throwing out a hand full of 1 1/2 in. roofing nails out of the window? That way you don't have to explain to Mr Trooper why you had to fire your weapon. The results are the same, somebody's bike is going to be upside down. 0 -
Don't mess with Toecutter.

I figure I can run over a crap load of bikers with my 5800 pound Avalanche, and that is what I would do, if I had a brick thrown through the window.
Next step is the ole .45,.......and yes I know that some of the scumbag bikers would be armed too.
I have a much more stable firing platform than they do.
I have never been harrassed by bikers though, so this is purely theoretical.0 -

I think that eventually the 'bikers' will be revealed as to what they really are. Saw a
short news segment on them on TV not long ago they are blacks on motor scooters
and minibikes (motorized). Most aren't street legal or are driven by licensed drivers.
... and the cops? ... they don't apparently care.0 -

I saw them (I'll assume it was them) mebbe 2 months ago. westbound on 44, in town, I was going east, rough guess 200 motorcycles!, I counted no less than 7 riders doing wheelies.
they were younger white guys riding mostly rice rockets and a few touring bikes, not older guys riding harleys. I haven't seen much else since then except for a leetle more instances of a few harley riders passing by, which don't look like they're from the same group as what I saw, so I think those guys are unrelated. therefore, I can say I really haven't seen them around en masse except for that one time.
I haven't heard or seen any instances of any motorbikes harassing cars. obviously it must be happening, but it's not like they're taking over the town. average joe ain't got nothing to worry about.
Maryland Heights (if that's where this stuff happens) is one of the richer parts of town. they would be foolish to try that on the north side. "the" north side. you wouldn't hear about "a brick thrown through a winshield" on the news, you'd hear about "a motorcycle rider got run over" on the news. they aren't as bad as the thugs the other year terrorizing the north side (you gotta be a thug to do that) carjacking people right off the interstate.
these guys are just obnoxious pansies. they're too scared to get into any real trouble. ya something bad might happen eventually, but for now they're just a nuisance. nobody around here is getting their panties in a wad.0 -
they aint diffrent to any other person(s), deal with 'em the same way......as any a88 'ole.
"fire with fire" ..... as they say.[^]0 -
U can buy a 10lb. bag of 3/4" marbles, in any 5& dime in the country, for less than $5....U cut those babies loose, on the highway,FUGGEDABOUDIT!!

i've seen a few of the large groups in that area myself, as you described, it was the first time i ever saw anyone doing a wheelie at 70 mph,
and for for those that do not know the area fire arms is almost out of the question, you miss your hitting a house, school, store, etc, and the speed of traffic would make it almost impossible to be accurate, you really don't know what happened, these people may have cut them off, and pizzed them off, and not even know it0 -
*55??? is that cell phone 911 or what? 0 -
Riding fast, riding in concert with lots of other riders, pulling wheelies, and they still have time and concentration sufficient to throw a brick through a window, and hit it? These guys need to be on reality TV.
I ride a bike. Almost always by myself or with just Mrs. Sahagan on pillion.
But I drive a cage too.
And in my opinion, one of the best scenes in any movie occurs in SMOKY AND THE BANDIT, when Snowman is it? creakingly, sorefully, climbs into his 18 wheeler, cranks it up, gives an evil laugh and RUNS OVER THE WHOLE BUNCH OF BIKES!
So what's almost a greater rarity than Dodo Birds?
Consideration....from one to another.

Saw one of the crotch rocket wheelie riders a couple of weeks ago in my parts.
He is buried now.
Wheelie at 55 plus MPH, and after about half a mile, he lost it.
I watched it happen in the mirror.
Rolled the bike, and all I saw was a Ford F-350 Crew Cab, do 2 bumps, as he was thrown into its path, and run over.
I have sympathy for the driver of the truck, more than the idiot on the bike.
There was nothing the guy in the truck could have done.0 -
They give lessons in shooting and conservation in grade schools. They require licenses to operate automobiles. You must be 21 years old (here anyway) in order to buy handgun ammo, 18 to buy alcohol.
But any kid with enough money can stroll into a motorcycle dealership and leave with a 186 mph missile that requires a great deal of time and effort in order to learn to handle safely. And in most states, the kid doesn't even have to wear a helmet.
Small wonder they're being killed too regularly.

if that happened to me while i was in WV i would take out as many as i could with my truck. then when it became disabled, i would yell for my friends, MR SMITH, MR WESSON and MR BROWNINGto help me 0 -
...If they are stupid enough to attempt to run my truck off the road or throw a brick or other large object my way, while doing 75mph or so; I'd take that as an attempt on life. Either scenario would be interpreted as an to attempt to kill me, and I would act accordingly...and it ain't "running home" either...your kidding right??...[;)]

Yes, but it is different for every state. In Illinois it is *4770 -
Never had trouble with them jumping me but I have come to believe bike riders are the dumbest people on earth! I can't tell you how many times I have been run off the road by bikers riding two and three side by side. U.S. 20 in northern Indiana is one of the worst places for this. Keep in mind I drive a 3/4 ton Dodge! I can hear some of you screaming right now, "I'M NOT DUMB!" If so tell me why they do this? Death wish? 0 -
I had a friend at Mt Home afb, one day he had a run in
with a biker from the biker bar in Mt Home.
I really thought he was going to end up dead.
One thing I liked about Idaho, you could walk around
with a gun on your hip. They pulled in front of him,
like a fool he stopped, but when he did get out, they
noticed a pistol on his hip, yep, smoked some tires
leaving that day, after that never had another problem.
Walk softly, but carry a 45.0
