At least he did something... many times I'm sure others would ignore it as it is someone else's problem.

Seems everyone in this fiasco has a case of the dumbass including the cops. What would they have done if he had interrupted a rape?

Best outcome is that Zorro pay for the damage, Johnny Wad turn down his volumne, and the Keystones write a report of citizens proactive support.

Bingo, but that would make way to much sense for these times.

    My thoughts also.

I'm glad he did something. Calling the cops would have been good but consider how long it could have taken them to get there. If someone was raping a family member or friend of mine I hope someone would step in and stop it.

This guy would have been a big hero if someone had been being raped. The lady at the bar said she hoped someone would help her like this if ever needed.

I would say have him pay to fix the door and apologize to the porno guy and be done with it.

Or have the porno guy apoligize and site him with some fines for having his pornographic crap loud enough to bother his nieghbors. I know I'd be highly pissed if my kids were hearing that crap.

It would make sense to have the sword guy pay for the door though.

Charges???? The only ones that should have been charged were the people playing porn so loudly that they would force a man to risk his life with a weapon out dated by 400 yrs? the POLICE blew this one in mt opinion.......

No, I don't think he should have to pay a penny.... these people insited this by stupidity.... If my wife or daughter were being raped. I'd be tickled to have a brave soul like this intervene....any one of us may have went through that door cocked and loaded...at least the ones of us that won't know a porn tape from Bush's thirty days have February speach!!!

Heck give the guy a medal. He acted in good faith. I agree you can have the right to whack off to porn if that is your thing ( I prefer a copy of Shotgun News)but at least don't disturb the village! Police in my town would have confiscated the video charged the dude with porn and then gone to the station and watched it :! HAHA

I think "lancelot" did the right thing. I would have done the same, only substituting my 1911 for his sword.

Can you imagine how he would feel if it turned out to be a rape/murder and he did nothing? I don't think I could live with myself.

There was already a precedent which showed that police tend to ignore such calls. There should be no charges against a citizen who actually cares about his community this much.

for example, there was a big stink here in town about the fuzz shuffling off reports of rapes, supposedly to deflate crime statistics. that's right, somneone would get raped, go to the cops about it, and they would sweep it under the rug. after it hit the papers, they cleaned up their act, and official crime rates went up. do we see a cause and effect here?
