Sailor Jerry Spiced Navy Rum ... Yum
I went grocery shopping and this caught my eye...

maaan, this stuff is smooth! Bacardi is 80 proof and harsher than this, and this is 92 proof! this blows away Bacardi. it's got more kick and it's still smoother than 40 proof schnapps. I can't believe it's only 12 bucks.
you can taste the alcohol (of course), it's lightly spiced, tastes somewhat like cherry, and damn take a shot or 3 and you'll get nicely buzzed.
you see, rum used to be my drink (Bacardi but never did like spiced rum), until one old salt I met (Paul Callahan, head waiter at The Plaza Club in Omaha if you know him) turned me on to scotch. I ended up liking scotch beter because after I got useed to that, rum was too sweet and sugary. well this stuff, it's spiced rum allright, but the sweet taste leaves your palate quickly, and the alcohol taste left over is balanced with a slight sugar cane and cherry aftertaste. I never tasted anything that left an aftertaste this good.
damn this stuff is good!
I never even heard of it until today. I'm tellin' ya, if you see it in the grocery store, snag it! you won't be sorry! even if rum isn't your thing, you'll like this.
you can mix it with something, it should still work, but if you want to get the whole experience, drimk it like true rum was meant to be drunk. take a swig from the bottle and then a chaser.
I quit drinking hard alcohol a long time ago -rum, scotch, all of it- but this defiinitely rekindles my interest. if this would have been around in my Bacardi days, I would have drank this and nothing but.
what mroe can I say? try it, you'll like it.

I usually drink Southern Comfort Exclusively (100 proof and smooth) but I'll see if I can find some this stuff since it comes so highly recommended. Still aint no way I'm drinking a Pepsi though. 0 -

Not really a rum drinker myself, but I am an "old school" tattoo fanatic and bona fide Sailor Jerry fan, so I'll have to keep my eyes peeled. Saw Sailor Jerry tattoo flash printed Chuck Taylors, too. Way cool.
yup, here's the back label.

hhmm... my dad's got a tattoo (one of several) of a skull with spider legs and the number 13 and his name on it, not the same tattoo as this but same lettering and style as if from exactly the same artist. he got it in the mid 60's when he was in the navy, have to ask him where the hell he got it from...

I had the largest Sailor Jerry dispaly on the entire East Coast,..and it is all gone now[:0] Once they got on it,...I sold every last bottle and now it's out of stock at the distributor. Guess I did my part to get it rolling[:D] 0 -
While in Jamiaca a couple of weeks ago, I got to drink first hand some jamiacan rum. Good stuff, I brought a couple of bottles of Appleton spiced rum back with me and a bottle of their white rum. I love rum, I have 6 or 7 bottles on the top of my fridge right now. If I ever see any of this stuff I will make sure that I by one to try out. 0 -
I will stick to my 15 year old Barbancourt Rhum. 0 -
Got me some the other day. Drank it with some cherry cola. Man it's good stuff. Sure helped with some of the newborn baby stress. Not that I needed any help.[:D] 0 -
