Anybody need a dog?
All Puppy mill operators deserve jail time. The vet that issued the statement about how much she cared for her animals should be made to put down every dog that doesn't sell.

so was I. It looks like there's probably going to be a lot of ruined dogs unless you enjoy a dog that walks in 3 foot circles all day, and is scared of human touch.[}:)]
We'll probably pick up one or two of the litters of basenjis with moms.

As long as they are providing them with food, water, a good shelter, and vet care, there is nothing that can be done. You can have, and should be able to have as many dogs as you can care for. But, these huge breeding operations just take it way too far.

my rat terrior came from a puppy mill for the first 4 months of his life he never touched the ground,he was in a cage with no human touch.
I have had him 3 years now and he is great with me and the girls but with david if i am home is goes crazy and tries to bite him he is just a different kind of dog from any dog i have owned...
i dont believe in puppy mills they are bad i didnt know that he was in a puppy till i got there and then i felt sorry for this one and that is why i got him...i thought if i could only save one wish i could of gotten more0 -

can you guess what large scale dog breeders like that do with all those dogs? hint: they don't all go to a "home". hint: they won't all die a painless death. hint: they won't all die a quick death. get the hint??
it's a good thing those (edited)'s are going out of business.
hopefully they get auctioned off to ppl who legitimately want a pet, and not auctioned off to who they probably would have went to in the first place. yes, even going to another 'puppy mill' would be better than getting experimented on, wouldn't you agree?0 -
Oh crap. I just counted the pups.
They have 484dogs listed. The females have a total of 617 pups that are under 8 weeks old for a total of 1101 pets that need homes.
I am going. I leave today at 4:00pm. I'll get back late tomorrow.

Out here the PetSmarts do not sell kittens or puppies, they arrange adoptions of cats and dogs in shelters.

One of the shelters around here keeps doing tv spots saying they're gonna have to put down the dogs if no one pays the $100 adoption fees.... cause they are over crowded... 0 -
i wish i was close enough to get one or two of the Basenjis, they make good bird dogs, the puppies can be straighten out easy, the older dogs will take lots of time, got a bird dog once that he owner had been beating, had to chain him at the back door so he would be looking at me every time i came in or out, of course i stpped and messed with him every time, he came out of it and made a good dog. 0 -

Rex, I did pick some up; however, none belong to me. They belong to Basenji Rescue And Transport(BRAT). If you would like to adopt a basenji, you can at www.basenjirescue.org.
They are very good at placing basenjis.
