Even though you are 20 and healthy, you have never been as old as you are today. See a doctor.

This is excellent advise I would take it.

I have similar spells that I figure are brought on by a low blood pressure issue I have...might be worth looking into.

Lay off the bacon and eggs, start eating whole grain cereal and see a DR ASAP

When something this abnormal occurs, the best advice is go see your doctor and don't put it off!

My guess would be that your blood sugar got out of wack from skipping lunch. Possible anxiety could be playing a part as well. Just a guess, best idea is to see a doctor.

Who is this DR ASAP? I've never heard of him. Just don't go to DR ACULA. They say he'll bleed you dry.

    I agree-see a doctor.

My guess is your metabolism was still running on high and with no food to run on, you got the shakes.

Something similar happened to my son yesterday. He'd been cutting back for several weeks (for wrestling) and then made weight (easily) on Friday. He got down to 137 but was going to wrestle at 145. He ate well Friday night and Saturday morning. Then wrestled 3 matches and didn't eat much. Before his 4th match, he felt weak and got the shakes. He ended up losing his last match because he was afraid to eat too much right before the match and lost to a kid he pinned earlier in the day.

My wife and I tried to talk to him about food earlier again today but he didn't want to hear it. (Slow learner[}:)])

Your metabolism is used to working steadily and when there is no food to digest, you get run down. This will often cause you to get sick as well, because your defenses are worn down when your body runs out of fuel.

Hmmm....either hypoglycemic, diabetic, or.....you were REALLY hungry.

it sounds like you had a hyperglycemic episode.
your body is used to the 3 meals a day, and when you skipped one, plus the activity the body didnt have enough carbs to work with.
get to a doc and have things checked out includeing a A-1C blood suger test run.
it is possible that you could be borderline diabetic, and as long as you keep the fuel tatio steady could go years with no other treatment.
but at the same time it is good to know in advance where you stand.
my wife went through this for years whenever her diet got off a bit, but the doc she was seeing never thought to have it checked till it was full blown diabeties[V]

I believe what yoy are trying to say is HYPOglycemic. Hyperglycemic is elevated blood sugar. easy mistake. And the assessment made sounds accurate, I have been in EMS for 16 years and have seen Hypoglycemia many time and suffer from it myself. sux, my first onset was at the gym when I was 19. gotta eat man. body needs fuel or it dosent work right. quote:Originally posted by oldemagics

It does sound like a hypoglycemic/diabetes type problem.
Except, as someone else said, if this is what it was, you would have had to eat some good food, or maybe sugar, to have put a stop to it.
Which almost certainly means it was something else.
I wish I could have taken your pulse during this episode.
Better see a doc, stuff like this shouldn't happen to an otherwise healthy 20 year old.

Sounds like a short episode of an abnormal heart rythym, or an episode of anxiety.
    Low blood sugar also possible.
Best to see a doc and be sure!

Not to play Devil's Advocate, but sometimes people around age 20-ish don't have any health insurance and therefore can't afford to see a doctor whenever something goes wrong.

go get your blood sugar checks, when I was your age i found out I had hypoglycemia after a nearly identical spell. On the onset of hypoglycemia you can go through highs and lows of insulin production. Sometimes you'll come right ut of it on your own.

Then get some insurance,........it's dirt cheap when you are that age.
Also a visit to the doc, and a simple blood test, and even an EKG, is not that bad out of pocket.
Many spend that much on beer, and cigarettes in a month.
Or ignore it, and possibly die very young,........simple choice!
Probably no big thing, but many folks have said the same, and found out different.

That would be my guess as well, but I would also suggest seeing a doctor if you can.

God put His Holy Foot on your brain and squished it with Righteousness, and demons of malnourishment were repulsed from your mortal body by His Foot Odor, because you weren't tithing enough!
