Scope, looking for...
a home.
I have an old Redfield Widefield 2 - 7 and have been trying to figure out what rifle and caliber would be a good match ??
Kinda would like an "old" looking rifle.
Any suggestions??

A marlin 1897 in 45-70 comes to mind, or maybe a Remington 760 in 270 0 -

That 45-70 was the first thing I was thinking of.0 -
Too new fer the Marlin. A Remmy pump gun,auto loader,or 600/660. Win. 88 or 100. Sako lever. 0 -

I agree with a later model Sav99 or a model 721 or 722 Remington, probably even an early 700. As I recall these were produced in the late 1960's into at least the 1970's, but can look up the years of production if it would help you in your search for a suitable new used rifle Doug. 0 -

None of them would look right with this scope.
The first rifle I ever bought was a Remington Model 600 in 6MM Rem.
I may look around for one of them in .308.
Do you guys think the scope will look right on the ray-gun looking thing, and be good for a .308's (short barreled) ballistics ??
Thank you.
