    I think you would have better luck before hunting season. The caliber just isn't one of those low cost popular ones that is fun to shoot.

    I would say its the price...GB buyers are always looking in the Blue Book which is where I looked....

    MSR is 525
    100% is 445

    and down to 80% which is 265....
    and 60% is 200...


    Those are from the latest blue book..>I know books dont buy guns, but maybe that is why no takers...

    As Shoff stated. You may have better luck just before hunting season.

    Nothing personal towards you or anything like that.
    But.. Here in my local area you cant give a Weatherby Vanguard rifle of any caliber away. People hate them.

    Well One problem is just before Wally world quit selling guns they unloaded a ton of them for $259 @ several stores around the nation....
    You had to be there just about to the minute they put them out to get one/////\\\\

    Ahhh all those things make sense. I was thinking part of it was due to caliber. I just wanted to make sure I was not out of line on price. Based on the price BR came up with it looks like I am about right. I had been looking at other auctions when I came up with my price. I am kinda of on the fence on this one but I think I would be smarted to hang on to it then list it for less.

    I would think it will sell for that price. Spring/Summer is the worst time of year to sell firearms.Everyone is busy with other things they couldn't do all winter and spending money on other activities.

    Closer to hunting season I am sure it would sell at the price you have on it.

    I think I spotted your rifle before you plugged it,and thought that's not to bad a price if I was in the market for a 300 I'de hit it.I would'nt get to put out about it as I watched a Browning M-12 20Ga. about 6 -8 months ago run 4 times w/o a reserve starting at 400.00 and it had briley's in it to boot.No hits.It was'nt his turn and it's not yours either.The scope does nothing for it other than make it look cheap.I'de take it off and the rings as well then add to INFO that the rings can be purchased seperate.I'm sure you will get mail asking for them to be thrown in so it's a little bit of a hook.Do it at shows all the time.I don't recommend taking a hit on the piece,just put it away or list it "Somewhere/s else"[:0]It's a good buy and a great cal.With Re. to the Blue Book,I wish I could buy the guns I like for what the Blue Book lists,for instance,whats current BB value for a 100% M-12,16ga,Solid rib. 100%= unfired.I just gave 600 delivered for an 80-85% + or -.How'd I do?I gave 825 for 1 similar 10 years ago.I made money on that one(Trade) and will with this one as well.It cost nothing to let it ride.Hang in there,Go make some guacamole and relax.I'll have more money in a few months[;)][8D]

    I like it , for the $ seems ok. When I used to work in a store, we never sold hunting rifles till school started back
    How well does it shoot?
    Keep relisting or lower price, those are about your only 2 options. I

    [8D]-Yo Nwcid, I'm not positive, but from the photo's it appears that the Weatherby "safety notice" for Vanguards Mfg between 1970/1993 HASN'T BEEN DONE and buyers would tend to shy away from it because of that-and the price--

    Why would anyone bid on a rifle at 399.00 that they could buy new for under 300.00, add 50 bucks transfer and 25 bucks shipping and its way over the top.

    Ever buy new car and try to sell it. Well if it isnt collectable you aint gonna get what you put in it. Same thing with a gun.

    Well I havent seen any for under $399 listed on GB. I know the scope and rings are not that great but I figured they are worth something. And I must be lucky since I only pay $25 for transfers.

    Try selling it without the scope and rings, seriously. At the same price. I don't know why, but just my experience, no scope is better than cheap scope. I'm sure someone will disagree, but give it a shot.

    Make sure you list that the serial number is not in the recall areas -
    00001-03810; V00001-V80966; VX00001-VX44065; VS00001-VZ23699; VL00001-VL46984; W0001-W0099; and NV0001-NV0099. These rifles can accidentally discharge with out the bolt being fully engaged. They will perform a safety upgrade to the bolt of the recalled rifles...

    Nwcid, Do a GB search for "Weatherby Vanguard 300". First one it pulls up is one just like yours new in box for $382 or $392 BIN.

    The scope is doing nothing for that gun as others have said. 99.9% of the time the buyer doesn't even factor it into the price because they will replace it or have one already for it anyways. You can get a little something for it on Ebay like Tsavo said. IMHO, I don't see how that will ever sell at that price as long as they are offering NIB ones here cheaper.

    Ditch the scope and drop the price at least $75. Sell the scope on Fleabay. If you still have the box and paperwork for the riffle, put'em in the picture.
