Movie gun Auctions part 2
I went to the Little Johns Auction today and it was quite an eye opener.
Most I talked to, including Little John himself, had no idea what all this Hollywood stuff would go for. Here are some of the amounts paid for these items.
Lot 31-- Stars Wars Broomhandle mauser, est value $3,000 to $6,000 went for $180,000.00. Thats right, one hundred eighty thousand.
Lot 40-- Raiders of the Lost Ark S&W 1917 used by Indiana Jones to shoot the sword wielding arab, est value $2,000 to $4,000 sold for $65,000.00.
Lot 78-- Lorne Green's gun & holster from Bonanza, est $5,000 to $10,000 sold for $40,000.00.
Lot 77-- Dan Blocker's gun & holster from Bonanza, est $5,000 to $10,000 sold for $38,000.00.
Lot 76-- Micheal Landon's gun & holster, est $5,000 to $10,000 sold for $33,000.00.
Lot 88-- John Wayne's Colt SAA he used in True Grit, est $15,000 to $30,000 sold for $81,000.00.
Lot 100-- John Wayne's Winchester 1892 SRC he used in "Stagecoach", est $15,000 to $30,000 sold for $115,000.00.
I got 3 guns that were way under these prices. Going back tomorrow for the remainder of the "show".
One of the local news channels showed up to do a story about all the hoopla.

Reminds me of the Star Trek stuff Christie's was unloading a little while back. I also saw a tv show they made about it. It was funny how much people spent on stuff. Half a million plus a buyer's premium (A.K.A. Christie's tax[:D]) for a model of the ship that lights up. 0 -

Paladins Remington .41 cal Derringer sold for $5,250.00. The estimate was $2,500 to $5,000, so it was in the ball park.
I managed to get 4 guns. An M-1 Carbine, 2 Winchester .22's and a Remington left hand 870 with 4 extra barrels.0 -
If they could of only had this auction 2 weeks later. There were a couple of guns I wanted to bid on. What a collection. 0
