score 1 for the rotts

went to get some dog food today, got a big ol' 37 lb bag. this lady in the line says "you must have a big dog!" I said ya about 90 lb. "what kind is it?" rottweiler. so she told me how this rott was hung up on a fence by her house, everybody else was afraid to go near it but her momma went right up to it, unsnagged it and took it home. now they can't run the bath water without the dog wanting to jump in the bathtub, and whenever they get in bed it jumps right in and snuggles up.

gee, too bad that didn't get reported to the police and make the newspaper.

    Rotts are very loving dogs, and very gentle. You have to really work hard to make a rotty mean. Mine was the biggest lap dog you ever saw,....and very attached to the kids.

    Rotties are awesome dogs, I'll agree. Unfortunately, they've gotten a bad reputation, as have other breeds. Never met a mean one yet, and I work in a vet clinic.

    I've had two Rottys, BOTH were "goof-balls"! You ever own a 120 Lb. lap dog!*L* They both were, great dogs!!! ...Only problem is the breed is very susceptible to cancer! Lost the first that way, broke my heart!!! My favor story about him, .we went to an open air concert at local strip mall. We were near the back on the lawn, I went to get some ice cream, my wife was watching the concert and Bailey was lying on the grass. When I returned the wife was still watching the concert, but 3 small Asian kids decided to play with Bailey! He just lifted his head to look at the kids, they were on top of him! About this time the kid's parents saw what was happening and the wife finally look at the dog! Everybody was freaking ...except Bailey, he loved kids and enjoy the encounter! *G* You should have seen the parents faces! *L*

    yup. my favorite story (my other rott) this little girl barely taller than my dog asked if she could pet him. he had his head down and was moping around because he wasn't sure about this stranger. I said ok, she wrapped her arms around his neck, put her head next to his and went "mmmmmmm..." he turned around and looked at me with pure joy. his face was beaming.
