what would you have done?
So we have signs all over our kitchen here at work to wash your own dishes as there are no maids. Every day I come in and there are dirty dishes in the sink. I see them pile up day after day. So today I threw them all in the trash. Several dinner plates, sandwich plates, bowls, mugs and about 20 pieces of silverware. It'll be interesting to see if anyone notices. Eventually we'll run out of dishes and the problem will be solved.
Most people here (99%) don't use the dishes as they go out or else bring their own in.
Was I wrong to do that?

Was in Vegas for New Year and on Saturday night the GF and I went to Fremont Street to walk around, eat dinner, and listen to live music. There where a couple different stages set up and we where walking around and stopped and started listening to a AC/DC tribute band that was pretty good. My GF and I where standing side by side near the side of the street opposite the stage.
After about 3 songs I was shoved hard in the back. Hard enough to make me take a step forward. I turned around and this guy (could NOT smell any alcohol on him) was standing there and screams (because of music level) "Get the hell out of my way".
So I said "What the hell is your problem just move so you can see" Stared the guy down for a couple seconds and he said some more stuff but I couldn't hear what he was saying. I didn't want to turn my back on him so I just reached over and tugged on my girlfriends sleeve and said "Let's go"
We walked away at a 45 degree angle to the guy so I could watch him and he started following us. We walked into the Golden Nugget because I figured if this guy was going to start something in there it would be on tape. He came in and we stared at each other for about 30 seconds then he walked away.
We gambled for awhile then went to the parking garage and drove back to the casino we where staying at.

I was in the convenience store tonight and a guy in front of me had a 12 pack of Bud Light. The clerk was new and only charged him 4.59 for the twelve pack. The guy just paid and left. Would you have spoken up? Don

Hello all, I was in one of the major sporting goods chains today and purchased a two man ladder type tree stand for on sale for $129.99 regular $179.99 and when the sales clerk put the large box on the hand truck and wheeled it to the register he read off the skew number to the cashier, I guess he made a mistake with the numbers but it came up $27.99 plus tax.......I pointed this out to the clerk and told her it was $129.99 not $29.99 and she corected the mistake and i paid them walked out. I am writing this Because there was a guy and line that actually got Angry with me for telling them about the mistake even calling me stupid for it. What would you have done? I feel that it would have been stealing for me to take it at the mistaken price. your thoughts? 0 -
Was posting a lienholders notice on a house today and when walking off the yard saw a loaded stainless mag, looked to be 45ACP of some sort sitting on the ground. Was going to pick it up but then thought better of it. It was a decent neighborhood but still left it alone. 0 -
A young guy came into the store yesterday looking for some "22 bullets" I asked if it was "22 long rifle". He replied, no, it's for a pistol. I explained the naming of the round, regardless of which type of gun uses it. He wanted me to show him where it was marked on the gun. ( A stainless Buckmark he just bought for $50). He pulls the gun out of the front of his pants, just like most of the kids in this neighborhood. I notice right away the left side right where the serial number should be has been ground down. WAY down. Left only the last digit of the serial number. I showed him where it said 22 long rifle. Then told him about his newly aquired illegal gun. He seemed pretty PO'd. He didnt know anything about guns, and was mad that he got taken. Said he was going to get his money back.
So the question is this: You work in a gun store, and while showing a customer something on his new gun you discover the serial number has been illegally altered, in any way. What do you do?0 -

From a cell phone, I'd have called the local law enforcement authorities. Then I'd have waited, observing the magazine, until an officer arrived. If I didn't have the time to wait, I'd have asked the dispatcher to speak with an officer and asked what you should do...whether to leave it and depart or pick it up and secure it. Leaving it alone, as you reportedly did, could have left the magazine vulnerable to a child or some other unauthorized handler.
Was it dropped by a fleeing felon after a violent altercation? Could it be considered "evidence" in an active police investigation? Could it be just what some nut was seeking in order to finish killing his wife or someone else? Or was it simply dropped by the homeowner while unloading his vehicle after a trip to the range? Too many questions without answers to leave it be, IMHO.0 -

no apparent crime has been committed that it might be a part of.
you don't have to do anything if you don't want to. it's up to your sole discretion.
with nobody home, there's no place to put it where the property owner would find it, that kids can't also find before he does. mailbox? mail slot? inside the door? kids can find it.
stash it somewhere and call the residents later to tell them where it is? too much hassle, and you might not get ahold of them anyways.
I wouldn't have taken it for myself.
I think I would have left it there. not a good place for it, but it's the responsibility of whoever dropped it there. and continue on with my business.0 -

I would have called the local police, and stood by, as it is either evidence, or it might be from an officer who was using his gun the night/s before, and he would like to recover it. 0 -
I agree 100% with Zipper, you can't just leave it there for kids to find and play with. Based on what we have learned here on a few recent posts many of our GB members feel that anything they find that is not nailed down or which has someones name etched on it is fair game for the taking if they stumble onto it. Call the cops, let them come over, pick up the magazine and then they can figure it all out. That is what they are paid for. 0 -

walk away, and give the cops a heads up in case maybe there had been some crime in the area recently involving that mag. 0
