The incidence of black widow bites has dropped markedly over the past 50 years. Now that almost all of us have indoor plumbing. The majority of bites previously were to the genitals and buttocks as bgjohn suggests.

I hate them because I have a weak stomach and a couple of times have had no good choice but to use two holers in which I used both holes at the same time.[xx(]

I will hold to the point of "disaster", before using one of them!
Have done it, but would rather do it in the woods by far, and use leaves,.......just not poison ivy, or oak![:D]

Yep, I'll stick to indoors..All I have to worry about there is stomping a scorpion now and then. They come up through the drains..

I don't care for them but they do come in handy while out and about. Beats squatting behind a tree. I usually carry a roll of T.P. and some wasp spray in my truck just in case I have the honor of using one.

Outdoor toilets (outhouses). You could fall in or be bitten on the ass by a spider![8)]

Nothing like sleeping in your own bed, and using your own toilet. I try to do both, religiously.

I always thought about printing up some fake twenty or hundred dollar bills, by no means passable at the store, but just good enough to look real at a distance and drop a few down hole in the blue rooms at work just to see if any ones stupid enough to pick it out of mess.

I lived out in the woods in Washington state for 7 months, had to use an outhouse. Nasty!
Sure makes you appreciate a nice, indoor, flush toilet.
Not to mention, in that time I got to really appreciate a hot shower.

ALBANY, N.H. -- A man is facing charges after police said they pulled him from a tank under a women's toilet that was filled with human waste.

    Video

Man Apparently Entered Tank Through Toilet
Police said that Gary Moody, 45, was under a log cabin outhouse off the Kancamagas Highway in Albany.

"You can draw your own conclusions as to the conditions we encountered," said Capt. John Hebert, of the Carroll County Sheriff's Department.

Police said that they got a call from the parents of a teenage girl who said that when she went to use the facilities, she saw Moody's face staring back at her from the hole.

Moody was hosed off before police cuffed him.

"It's a very filthy environment, and before we put anybody in contact with him, we had to decontaminate him," Hebert said. "We treated him as if he were hazardous material."

Hikers using the outhouse on Tuesday said that the story was enough to make their stomachs turn.

"He just must be sick to put yourself in that muck. Disgusting," said Harriett Voysey, of New Jersey.

Police said they don't know how long Moody was in the tank, but they said the door to it was locked, which means he must have gone in through the toilet. They said they don't know why he was there.

"I started this business in 1980, and I have never in my career encountered anybody in this type of situation," Hebert said.

Police charged Moody with criminal trespass, and they said he could face more charges. He is out on bail and due back in court next month.

The urinal in portajohns have the little deodorant patty in them. I walked out toward a group of friends one day after doing my business and acted like I was rubbing my hands together. When I got up to them I said, "Da#$, my hands smell like pi$$, that soap in there doesn't smell real good". They fell for it.

Sir Thomas Crapper is one of my heroes. Whether he did it or not, and whether he actually existed or not, he is generally credited with inventing the modern toilet. Not only that, he won me a fifth of Johnnie Walker Black Label at the Fort Lauderdale VFW.

I won't go so far as to say I'm glad I have something to compare modern plumbing to, but I don't regret it. I think it makes me appreciate modern living a little more. [:D]

Lot of this and that here, but here's some reality for you.

Outdoor toilets were the norm in my young years, and yep..Sears catalogs were the going paper. First roll of real tissue I saw was in a latrine in a Lackland AFB barracks. And THAT is real...No crapping around..Literally. Not sure if I should be ashamed or proud...[8)][8)]
