Gunna have someone pissed at me !
I just went out on the back of my property (which I have not done in a long time) to scout out for some hunting.
Well I get out near my property line and low and behold someone "HAD" a blind set up out there on my property with trail markers leading from over off my property!
Well I tore down the blind (it was made from cammo burlap and natural vegitation) and left all his burlap lying there and tore down all the trail markers from my side of the property!
I knew I had heard a couple shots a little closer than normal over the last couple weeks but never really gave it any though as others do hunt on thier properties back in that direction.
But I'll be damned if I am going to let someone hunt my land without my permission!

Did you leave a note on the pile[:D]? I wonder if they left/set up camera on the surounding trees? Might be a free give a way camera[:D].

I think I know who it is! But without catching them I have no proof!
If it is who I think it is it is the same nieghbors from across the street that I have had and continue to have problems with about speeding up and down the road! These same people also know that they do not want to be caught on my property as they have allready been warned! Starting next week I will be doing a bit of hunting back there myself and will be primmed to catch someone.0 -

Some people boldly have no respect for other peoples property.
Had a similar situation on my property, confronted the guy, told him to beat it, and he still kept coming back.
The back end of my old 80 acre had a nice swampy thicket that boarders state land, allll sorts of game love hanging out in there, unfortunatly so did all sorts of hunting creeps that figured know one would know they were there.
One time a car with out of state plates just kept circling tryinging to get a shot at a heard of deer on my property, or waiting for one to leave so they could shoot, all day long i watchd this. finnaly at the end of the day i was pissed, i jumped on my dirt bike and just lit it up and charged the deer heard,,scared the crap out of the deer and ran em back into the thickets.
as the out of staters were passing buy my house once again they just gave me the finger and kept going.
I just laughed to myself, that aint hunting and you dont deserve the deer I thought to myself.........0 -
Screw them!!! I not only would have destroyed it but kept the burlap for myself. I'd also do some looking around to see if they had a camera up or any stands.
If you knew when they would be there it would have been fun to wait for them with a shotgun in their blind. And if they point a gun in your direction--self defense0 -

All kinds of loonies will be found trespassing where they have no right to hunt. A good bud of mine confronted one of those types years back, but after he hammered on the smart aleck with his rifle due to a threat, the trespasser had a clear understanding for the consequences of such an offense. 0 -
Try to eliminate any possibility that they may not have known the stand was on your property. Benefit of the doubt, at least for the first time. There are some jerks, but it's still a brotherhood of arms.
Sidenote: you don't need the liability of someone getting hurt on your property. See if you can better mark your boundary lines. Joe0 -

Have you considered the fact that deer hunters usually sit in the stand and hold a high-powered rifle in their hands? Don't think I would go up and try to cut the tree down with them sitting there! When I have caught someone hunting on my farm, I have even been leery of approaching them, just because of that.

hey git....you don't correctly grasp the situation...they may or may not have a license, they have a gun, & bought bullets....they have a right to hunt where the game is.....thats current thinking around here....as a land owner you have the right to make land payment, interest payment, tax payment, insurance payment....next this situation is not real until you contact sheriff, press charges with co. attorney, go to court..otherwise you can do all the wonderfully passive aggressive responses till the cows come home, 0 -

It tears the ass right outta me, that i have 80 prime old-groath acres of red/whate oak, Hickory,Curley maple and a few Black Walnut.In Tennessee that i cannot keep my eyes on!!I know the bass turds on the next Mtn./valley are huntin my place HARD!! Bringin-in friends and family, and havin them a time!!

I do rent, but my landlord has allready told me that he would never give anyone permission to come on this property without my knowladge.
Also the trailmarkers go a couple properties over leading out rather than straight down to the blind.
It is obvious that whoever did this knows that they are not on thier property but probly think nobody ever goes back there. I very seldom do go back there but I was wanting to hunt myself back there so I went to prep for it.
First thing monday morning my landlord will also be informed of the situation as I like keeping him up to date on what is going on around here.0 -

I have kids on 4 wheelers that use my land as their personal dirt track. Tears the ground up and kills the grasses I leave growing for the animals. What bothers me the most is when I go out to talk to them so I can tell them where it would be ok and more fun to ride, they take off shouting obscenities. Really, I just want folks to come up to the house and tell me who they are and what they are wanting to do. As long as they don't create problems for me and stay clear of the down range area of my shooting field I usually don't object. 0 -

If those guys want to go "meat-hunt" /kill a few does, i would be happy to let'em. But damn man, at least call me. They did pay for the 2 trees they cut.Said they didn't know it was my place they were on. I asked them,in front of the Trooper,if they knew it wasn't their place, and they admitted it.I told'em if they shot a deer on their property, and it ran onto mine, no prob. Track it down, and take it home.I posted the lines, and asked that they not hunt my place AT ALL.Except for trackin wounded deer.

I hate land thats posted. What if you had a number on a sign on your fence every 25', that had this written on it.To gain permission to hunt here call ###########, all others will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. . Then if you find a blind on your land , knowing you have not given anyone rights to hunt on you land, you could call the guys in the green suits , and the cops.Why put yourself and your kids in danger?Most of us that hunt would place the call and be happy with a yes or a no. The dorks that don't call should be taken care of by the law.Good luck. 0 -

Ican remember about 3 years ago when approching one of my box stands i built i saw someone moving inside stand,[had light on].I quietly snuck up under stand[20 ft. up and on 4x4,s]and shot my .44 redhalk in ground.Commotion that followed was unbelievable.Heard a short scream a big bang and he flipped up door in floor and almost fell to ground tryin to get outta there,Got a box of 30-30 shells outta it and a coleman lanteran and Mr. buddy heater!Shot the shells,still have lanteran and use heater all the time myself!.Never saw him again.By the way i ment to tell ya big bang i heard was his head hittin the roof over in stand,[nothin that a few taps with hammer couldent fix to reset nails holden roof on!Thanks,Paul 0 -
I was out checking my fences once during deer season. (I had a blaze orange jacket on.) I was walking through the woods and a guy starts yelling at me to go away I'm scaring his deer away. I look up and here is some moron up in a tree on my property telling me to go away.
I asked him who he was and what he thought he was doing, and he said I'm hunting whats it to ya? I told him that he was on my property and that he needed to get off it. He started grumbling but he got down.
Havn't seen him since and no one has been hunting on my land. I alway's check my property armed.0 -

Let me get this right. If a tresspasser is romping around my land (without my permission and signs clearly posted) and he gets hurt then calls 911 for help he could sue me? Man when I do buy some land in Oregon I better make sure there's a deep swamp on it, too.0 -
In Michigan, if you are a trespasser, you are owed no duty of care by the property owner. If you are the property owner, however, you cannot intentionally set traps or try to hurt the guy. So no Burmese Tiger Traps, OK? 0 -
GRD what you have done is to pi-- them off. if the a holes are anything like here you can expect more damage than you want including a forest fire good luck with your problem 0
