Yugo Home Build Completed

Well it isn't completed as far as final finish but is now a complete useable firearm.
In between coffe breaks and chaseing Falcons away and posting on GB i was able to finish a Yugo M70B today.
I also discovered a new method of barrel installation that I have never heard of before that really simplified it.
So simple I should patent it.
Here are a few pics.

    One benifit of the home built underfolder is that the stock has ZERO play when in the extended position.
    I took as long fitting the mechanism on the stock as the rest of the ak all together.
    I must have put the stock on and off over 15 times, fine die grinding the holes to get the tight fit and still have it function smoothly.

    I think your build looks real purty.

    Been hunting for a good deal on a Yugo(car) to restore, but when I buy one, the folks just send an envelope full of rust.

    I forgot to add that the total cost was about 325.00 for the parts to assemble.

    MVP,....are you going to just refinish the wood, or the whole deal?
    If so, what for the metal, which looks pretty good in the pics.
    Parkerized, baked paint,.....bluing?

    I may just clean it up and leave it that way it looked when was in use in Yugoslavia.
    Yeah it really doesn't look to bad.
    The folding stock is close to 10% original finish/patina.
    The barrel from wood forward still has not had all the cosmoline/grease stripped 100% off yet.
    If I do the metal I will probably use duracoat.

    Nice job. And you saved about two benjamins off what I just paid for a ready-made.

    Still haven't got a chance to fire mine up yet. A friend suggested there are parts of town where I could do it any night of the week and no one would notice.

    I've got one of those but am lacking the rear trunnion and the folder.
    Any ideas where I might find these parts at a half-way reasonable price?

    I don't know of anywhere off the top of my head but I do see them occasionally for 75.00 to 100.00
    I don't know if that is a reasonably price for you but that seems to be what they sell for.
    There used to be a seller on GB a few months ago who had several up for sale and I see they are all gone now.

    I know nwcid purchased one a while back, maybe he has a lead on where they are avilable?

    I Have a a few more kits to try my method on and then if it works I will email you instructions.

    You know what Plato Penned thousands of years ago "Necessity is the mother of invention" and I didn't have my aluminum block clamps at home to use my barrel press so I tried something on a whim and and had the barrel on in 30 seconds with one hand held tool.
    If it works as smoothly on my next build I will take pictures and email it to you.[8D]
