    Don't know, but I put 125lbs in my bicycle tires I think your tank is a a wuss!!!

    It's not 100 lbs of weight, it's 100 pound per square inch (psi) which is pressure.

    whatever the capacity of your air tank, if you fill it up to 100 PSI the air in it will weigh 7.75 times as much.

    I put 60 lbs of air in my Beach Ball and it still floats.
    This is just crazy.

    I know this sounds really stoopid, but I had never really thought about the weight of compressed air until I started SCUBA diving. Filled SCUBA tanks (obviously) are quite a bit heavier than empty ones. Duh, I know, but for some reason I was thinking there wouldn't be any difference...until I saw a guy figuring out which ones were full by lifting them.


    I scuba dive as well. We must really be studs carrying 3000 lbs on our back.[;)][:D]

    if I knew the size if the air tank or scuba tank, I could tell you how much the air weighs at whatever PSI.

    That's because when you pump 100 lbs into the tank - you leave behind some thin air - and that creates updraft.

    So be carefull you don't pump it too much - it might just fly away all of the sudden.

    waht's the actual volume of the tank? something tells me "120 cf" means you can stuff 120 cf of air into it.

    It is, and I can prove it..My bathroom scale adds at least ten pounds every time I even look at it. I've been using it for over a year now..Any questions?

    Last year one of my truck drivers saw me load up a tire in the of my truck then add some air to it and he thought I was a genious because I didnt pick up that extra hundred pounds of air.

    if you charge it up to 3400 psi, it should have about 29 lb of air in it.

    I know there is a simple answer but,if you have 32 psi in the tires on your pick up while the truck is empty and put 1000 pound load in the truck why is there still 32 psi in the tires? My son ask me that when he was 10 years old and I still don't know.

    is there? I thought the psi would go up, that's why they have a load rating, put too much weight on and they would pop.
