    112 pages it will take a while, open it and go make a sandwich[:D]


    allot of neat stuff there, wish i was a millionaire, i see about 2 dozen at least i would have to have, neat worth the wait, thanks for sharing that

    I'll be going to that auction. Hope to get a couple pieces of Hollywood history.

    Picked up my hard copy catalogs last week. I want Mel Gibson's Smith model 29 from Payback and Patrick Swayze's Colt SAA from Red Dawn.

    I wouldn't mind owning Lot 88, the Colt Single Action John Wayne used in True Grit.[:)] However, I don't think I'd pay what it will probably bring.[:0]

    Number 31, Hans Solo's gun is the only item attributed to Star Wars.

    When I was at Little Johns getting my catalogs I looked at many of these guns.

    I was told by staff that someone had called and offered $50,000.00 for that gun. He was told it must go to auction. He should be able to get it for under $10,000.00.

    The barrels of the automatics are mostly modified to shoot blanks, but otherwise are original "real" guns. The revolvers are original and shootable but are not in the best condition. Stembridge did not take the best of care of these guns.

    ...Sandwich?? On 45k dial-up, I'll take a vacation. I've been fascinated with Stembridge since reading an article about them in a gun rag in the mid sixties.

    ...Lefty, it wasn't just Stembridge that didn't take care of the guns. Actors, directors and producers are just as much to blame. How many times have you seen guns dropped, tossed, rolled down a rock face, etc? There were some rubber mock-ups, but mostly, the real deal got beat up in the course of filming. I still cringe when watching an old western, and an original Henry gets flopped down on a rock....[:(]

    Tapwater..... True, they are beat up while out on the set by actors and others. The studios usually have a firearms handler on site to keep control of the inventory.

    The condition Iam refering to is rust and corrosion, ie, poor storage. Example is lot #5, the S&W 29-2. The inside of the cylinder holes are covered with rust.

    Actually, Robert Petersen of Petersen Publishing fame, publisher of Guns & Ammo, Hot Rod magazine and others owned these guns after Stembridge. He decided to put this collection up for auction so other collectors could own & enjoy them.
