fox news asks "what kind of parent buys a kid.."

"...a gun?" maybe the media doesnt know but its illegal to purhcase a gun when you are under 18. since many kids in america shoot and hunt i guess that would mean a gun would have to be bought for them by a parent. i always considered it a rite of passage in this country for your dad to buy you a gun. mine did. i still have them today. i wouldnt sell them for anything in the world.

so to answer their question....a GOOD PARENT buys their kid a gun

    my dad didnt buy me a gun but handed a few down the line. my first purchase at 18 1/2 yrs mossberg 500. 2nd at 19 WASR10. recent kimber custom 2[8D]

    My childhood bedroom had a gun rack with rifles.shotguns along with several more air guns. Never was a problem having them then.

    I got a Marlin .22 rifle for my 12th birthday. A Winchester 1300 12 gauge for my 16th and a Savage 99 in .358 Win ([V]) for my 18th/joining the Navy present. These were all gifts from my uncle who taught me to shoot. My parents bought me bows.

    I can honestly say I bought all my kids firearms from the time they were around 5 and up,,I see no ploblem with it,,I never bought them one of the things they showed on TV,,,I think you call them a tech 9 or some such thing,,being a kid,,if he could not hunt or target shoot with it he did not need it,I agree an adult should be able to have it if they wanted but a kid has no need

    fox news was experiment by a rich guy and the CIA, it has worked marvelously.

    A good question when the kid has a violent past and a rap sheet at 14 years of age and is in a "alternative" school for trouble makers. Maybe money for a tutor would be better spent. Something to help the kid get out of his violence problems. A gun may not have been what this particular kid needed. The family seems to be messed up.

    As a kid I watched every cowboy and western movie that came out.The good guys wore white hats and had a hog leg on each hip.After the movies let out we would get our cap guns on and play cowboys. I had a gun rack in my bedroom with a single 16 ga shot gun and a model 67 22LR, I was 14 years of age.
    The thought never crossed my mind to shoot anybody or cause any dammage. My parents were hunters and taught me at an early age how to handle guns,they were tools to gather meat for the table,nothing more.

    Looked to me like all those guns in that latest story were just airsoft ones.
