Hello newbie to guns

Hello I am just turning 21 and I am wanting to get into guns. I was woundering what the best handgun would be for me to start out with. I am kinda leaning toward the HiPoint 9mm compact. (Mostly for its price) Is that a good start off handgun? Any and all help would be great thank you

  Just find out what the latest model rifle our Government puts in the hands of boys right off the block who never even held a gun before. Don't you deserve the same? I am assuming of course that you are purchasing this weapon for the sake of God and Country...
