A case of beer. In my neighorhood everyone speaks spanish.

...that's a sad reflection of what this country is coming too...

Odd ECC, I don't find it sad at all. It has always been that way here, and it makes life a lot more interesting than living in a White Bread neighorhood. I like Thai and Viet Namese food too. Beef and taters gets boring.

what city do you live in ?

by a gang of 6 punks would your 38 spl revolver in the night stand get the job done?[:o)]

If it doesn't,a few lines from mrsbigt's tactical "Mars & Venus" handbook would certainly make them flee...[;)]

    Lets see, nice equation:

    6 Punks
    Minus
    6 Rounds of 124gr Corbon JHP's out of my 4 inch S&W Model 66
    Equels
    0 punks leave alive

Well, if forced too, my .38 would be back-up to my 870, Blackhawk w/.357's, and Combat Commander .45.[:D]

MVP - an alarm system that lets you know before they do. A couple of semi-auto 12ga(no bird guns), you won't have time to reload. First shot and you are blind. Something to hide behind because they shoot back. Your wife had better be on the cell phone because the land line will be cut. 911 is a one button push, and hope that the brain dead on the other end of the call can figure out that you are home. Because no one is going to be able hear anything but Bang, Bang. Make sure your kids know what they are supposed to do. And pray they do it. There is no time to wake them up and say ok kids time to play a new game.

    I don't have a .38 spl revolver. I have a 1911A1 .45ACP with 2 7-round mags, and a Springfield M1A SOCOM 16 in .308WIN with a 20-round make, both ready to rock and roll in an instant.

Zulu, friend of mine has a Socom 1 (?, or was the 16 the first model?), the first model without all the bells and whistles. Neat little rifle. Wish I could afford one.

    Rotwieller named "Lucky" big dog.
Winchester 1300 Defender (w/8 rds 00Buck) w/25 rd belt located between the night stand and bed with a Ruger P89DC and 4 15 round mags on the night stand.
    I don't worry.

I do have a .38, but it would get used after the two .45, one with two 8 rd mags, the other with two 13 rd mags. Then the 870 with 00 buck will take care of the rest, I'm sure. All of this within easy reach of the bed side.

If a gang of six punks attacked my residence, I'd be out about three walls, a TV, some furniture, and a whooooooooole lot of ammo from the three pistols, two rifles, and one shotgun I have handy. [;)][:D][;)]

Springfield makes the SOCOM II and the SOCOM 16. I've never heard of a rifle called the SOCOM 1. The 16 is the stripped down, bare bones 16" barrel M1A, the II is the one with the standard rifle style stock with accessory rails bolted to the front part, and it looks absolutely hideous.

Mine is better...here's a couple pics:

His has the regular stock, but doesn't have the forearm with rails. Maybe he had it changed out. If I remember correctly his is the 16.

    You guys must live in
    bad neighborhoods, in the
    last 34 years ,the only
angry gangs up here have been
raccoons trying to pry the lids
of the new trash cans we bought
but I imagine it could happen so
    we're probably ready,got a super soaker
filled with Captain Morgan for the
benign type gangs and a big broom for ma
to sweep the real ugly ones of the front stoop!

If they all decided to rush you at the same time- you would be screwed with any type of semi-auto or revolver. Especially if they were within 25 feet of you. I would assume you would need to rely on unarmed self defense tactics. How many of you are proficient in the unarmed martial arts? I would then grab one and point my weapon to his head-using him as a shield- I think they would back off then.[}:)]

I don't worry as much as you do. You expecting a military invasion of your home anytime soon?

Hey. I make make karate noises and make facial expressions just like Jean Claude Van Damme. That should scare them.

And, if that don't do the trick, I could just hold up a photo of my MIL. If they're blinded, they can't do much damage.

    No punks around here!

All I have on my night stand is the latest issue of "Deer & Deer Hunting!" Maybe I could use it to protect me and the missus.

Actually, I do have a hatchet hid out for rare intruders ... I might use it in a pinch.
