    He is a cutie pie. What did you name him? He looks like a "General" to me. I love his big pink ears. I bet he has some terrier in him.....they are smart!

    Disclaimer: I am not stalking you -- waiting to make a happy birthday phone call to overseas, therefore still here, killing time.

    I wouldn't say "General", I'd say he looks more like a Colonel, but I might be wrong.

    I picture someone saying I'm taking the General with me to the store....and those big pink ears running out to the truck. I have always wanted a big ole floppy hound dog so I could name it Belvedere (from the Bugs Bunny cartoons.)

    I like Bulldogs...but if I got one of those I would have to name it Butter. I have certain names picked out for certain breeds. Not that I plan on having anything soon.

    I think Belvedere suits a big ole hound dog with super saggy eyes that sleeps on the porch and you have to check to see if its dead from time to time 'cause it never moves.

    Butter fits one of those slobbering bowl-you-over bulldogs with a chest that is wider than the dog is tall. (I know someone who has one and that is it's name....it fit so well if I ever got one I would name it that.)

    We had Great Dane's when I was younger and lived with my parents. They were Rasputin, Rommel, and Helga.....you know how a breed just HAS to have the proper country's type name sometimes? Rommel was HUGE....he was a harlequin (white with lots of spots.)

    There are lots of dogs out there I would like to have. I wish I had stopped and gotten the two little brown dogs I saw on the side of the road the other day. Every time I think about them I am sad. I think they were some type of Pekinease mix looking things....but they had been dropped off by the freeway exit. They looked so lost but I was in a hurry and didn't have time to deal with anything right then. I was trying to find the nursing home my grandmother is in temporarily going through physical therapy.

    I let him keep his name that he's had for his 11 years on this earth,and that is JAKE.[8D]

    Congrats ATF! It always makes me happy when someone rescues an animal from the shelter. I have 4 that I have saved (one dog, three cats).

    West Highland Terriers ("Westies") are great dogs and make wonderful pets. Unfortunately, they only live about 14 years but I'm sure he'll be very happy. Congrats!
