Congrats! Class M! I took my road test on a Suzuki SP250. It was like riding a bike.

I have found nothing quite like a two wheeler andtime to burn.
    Good Going!

I used a Honda Nighthawk 250 for my class. That was a great bike to use on the u-turn box. Turned on a dime, and all you had to do was stay balanced.

They split up into two groups; fast and slow. I stayed in the slow because my little sister was in it, and she was nervous about the ride. I worked in with the fast group towards the end. I had to move up to third gear to keep up with the 250s. Those 125s had the shortest gears possible I believe.

Stay safe and get some time in traffic with the scooter before you move up to a gear box. Nothing takes the place of experience, even a safety class.

I am proud you cared enough to take one, and passed it. There are a lot of experienced riders who could benifit from the experienced riders class.

Only speaking of CT....you get a M/C license when you sucessfully complete their sanctioned course. The course is the road test. Joe

I used my 1978 Suzuki GS1000 for my rider's course. Try taking that beast through the figure 8 box, I did it in the small 125/250 cc bike box and not the larger experienced course box. I lost three points on the final ride because I navegated one of the turns too fast even though I stayed inside the cones and manouvered the turn properly.

We picked up a Honda 185 a couple months ago.
I taught my 14 year old to ride. He is taking the test in a week. My 12 year old is learning now. He is not heavy enough to kick it over but once it is started he rides fine.

One of the instructors took his Road King through it. He didn't do it for us. He got in trouble the last time he did it. I would've like to see him do it though.

Congrats on the new scooter and especially the BRC. Ya' know, yer only thirty minutes north of me. If you ever want a mentor, gimme a holler.

As a side note, any y'all who ride are welcome to mosey over to MCUSA and have a look around. We're about everything motorcycles there with a strong emphasis on safety.

I took mine on a Harley full dresser in 1988...we were allowed to ride on temps for awhile before taking the test so i had expereance on the big bike.Rode before that but never had a MC licence.

When I lived in Kansas, you did not need a test to ride a motorcycle. Of course I only had my bike 8 hours before it was totaled. Don

Damn dcon, that's shorter than my Z900 lasted. Less than 600 miles when some puke parked his truck on me.

I'd love to take my scooter out on some long rode rides. I've got classes starting in two weeks though. The scooter is set for two lane highways (Kind of light for interstates).

You are in Kansas, go to the edge of town and take a right 1 mile, a left for 360 miles. Don

What's AMTX? I know that mine reads DM, which means cars, light trucks, and mopeds for the D and motorcycle for the M

Run down McDowell Creek Road, it's a nice ride with plenty of what will pass for twisties here in Kansas. Definatly stay away from 99 south out of Wamego, truckers are useing it for a way around the scales on I70. Last time I went north out of Alta Vista headed for Alma I nearly bought the guardrail when a trucker took a downhill sweeper left of center. Just remember, on McDCR to ride within your limits, gotta' watch for farm crud (Mud, tractors, and such) on the roadway.

That is a big problem around here as well. If there aren't huge clods of dirt on the road from a tractor then a trucker pulling a load of alfalfa is running on the wrong side of the yellow line. Both of these have killed people around here. A minor inconvenience of living in a rural area.
