Favorite Squirrel Gun?
Do you use a shotgun, Rifle or pistol the most when hunting bushy tails. I use a .22 rifle most, but I like to carry one of my Ruger MK II pistols. I also use a shotgun, but I use it the least. Usually if Im going to be stalking I have a shotgun.

I like my .308 It kills em, guts em and quarters em all at the same time.

I shoot a 12 ga pump gun - #6 shot - but most any shotgun other than a single-shot is fine - gratefully, I neither heard nor saw a .22 in the woods around the camps here. 0 -
A good .22 short with a good scope at 25 yds its hard to miss a head shot on a squirrel, not noisy enough to scare all the others away. Shotgun pellets are hard on the teeth.. 0 -

Depends on the location. In the woods behind the house I use some type of shotgun. Just look in the safe and pick one, gauge doesn't matter to me. There are houses and I'm afraid to use a .22.
If I go to my hunting camp I use a .22LR as I have 140 acres to myself.0 -

I use an old .31 cal muzzle loader and shoot just under the tree rat causing the bark on the branch to knock the wind out of him. Back in the day we called it "Barking" or I take out the old 10/22 or Ruger Mark 1 0 -
since most of my shot are up in the trees (apposed to the ground). And the areas I hunt squirrels in (houses within a mile). I use a 410 shot gun. Safety first, pick'en lead out my teeth second. 0 -
Bull barrel Ruger 10/22 with a Simmons 6-18X40AO, if you can see them you can hit them plus the rifle loves Wolf Match Extra. 0 -
Ruger 10/22 or Browning BPS 12g. I used to hunt with my dad's old Mossberg .410 bolt action. That was a great squirrel gun. 0 -

Wow, we even got some very nice eye candy. I have a pump Henry .22 Im going to put some shorts in it and give it a try. If I were hunting public property I would have to use a shotgun. They open squirel season just before Bow Season for deer. If I was a bow hunter guess it would make me weary too. There has been much debate about waiting to open squirel season, but then Muzzle Loading and Rifle Season fall in line. 0 -
