That happens to be my birth year 1964. I use to collect wheat pennys long time ago.

Well it's not pure silver, 90%. But ya don't find too many now a days.
I usually find 2-3 silver dimes a year. And a silver quarter about every 2-3 years.

In the last month i got a 1964 dime and a '64 quarter, I was very surprised! You would think that people would hang on to them, but my friend brought up a good point, he said that most of the people now a days that don't collect coins, have no clue about what they are! If one drops, I can tell it's silver right away by the ring it makes. I've collected coins since I was 13 years old.

I always check my change, now. I got change last month and handed it to my wife and she being the smarter of the duo checked all of it and found a 1937 Indian head nickel. I like stuff with history. I will have to check my dimes more closely.

if you will notice aytime there is a coin show the numismatics will drop a bunch of old coins with no super duper value into circulation to peak interest in coin collecting [ learned this fact from a friend who has an EXTENSIVE collection, he needed a dime, I think to finalize a collection years ago when he found it paid about a grand for it but that valued his collection at app 16,000 if I remember right ]
