    You only find bodies after 5 days.

    I always tell anyone who will listen to never get in a car with an abductor. Make him shoot you in the parking lot rather than get in the car. Nobody is ever forced into a car and returned alive.

    If the killer is the guy on the video they will catch him. Not that it will do the girl and her family much good.

    I'm assuming this was the call of the father's law enforement agency, who were surely informed of the finding of the body before the family, as a courtesy to the family.

    I second, and third the never get into the car idea.
    I have gone through this with my fiance', and my mom also.
    Scream your head off, swing your purse,knee them in the balls........do anything you can do!
    If you get into that car, you are finished, except to be found in a shallow grave.

    And very good advice. My wife said she looked at the videos very carefully and it looked like the girl went to her car, opened the driver door and the guy showed up behind her, grabbed her and shoved her in. I believe the car was a 1979 Buick hardtop (2 door, and I could be wrong) took her clear over to the lake that has a Missouri side, killed her then drove her car back to the vicinity where it had been parked, got his pickup truck and left. Apparently they have "several" people they are interviewing. The Chief of Police said all of them "resembled" the person of interest in the video.

    I couldn't get the link at the top to work but will offer some possible explination as to why the clergy were told before the family.

    In the past when LEO's had to make "death notifications" they sometimes contacted a neighbor to determine if there was a family friend or clergey that they could contact to offer "comfort" as the news was given.

    I am not familure with what department the dad works for but some PD's have a chaplin available.

    The Family has offered a 30 thousand dollar reward reward....
    I sure wish I knew something....That's a t lot of green to turn down....But I sure as hell would. The only reward I need is seeing the (Self Censored) that did this get his.....
    I freaking hate this type of low life and would not blink an eye if they asked me to throw the switch.....
    Honestly I'd like to take an axe to him!!!
    I think I really need to quit watching the news!!!!

    i cant believe that women still dont get it. when someone tries to abduct you in a public area you have to fight for your life RIGHT THERE. once you get in that care you are DEAD.

    If he shoved her into the drivers side of the car, she could have rolled over into the passenger's seat, unlocked the door, and opened the door and rolled on out onto the asphalt. Even if the car was doing twenty mph it beats the alternative.
    If her father is a cop, he should have had his daughter prepared for this type of event.

    For example, I have a buddy who got his son and daughter into a Kung Fu school in Atlanta when they were about 12 years old. This was a very good school that taught street fighting techniques. Dennis made sure that his kids stayed in this school for at least four years, and he went to Kung Fu class with them.
    When Dennis' daughter was 19 years old, she was in London for the summer on a work study program, she was in the pre med school at Emory University.
    She was in London walking in the subway at night when a guy assaulted her from behind. This guy was 6 foot tall, Lauren was about 5-2 and 110. This guy grabbed her by the shoulders.
    In ten seconds Lauren left this guy in a groaning heap on the concrete.
    Lauren was not a rape/murder victim because her father loved her enough to prepare her against a violent attack.

    First my heart goes out to the family and friends and offer a prayer for their loss.

    When I first read the story the other day I had two initial gut feelings about this:
    1. Due to her young age, it could be a guy she rejected in school who wanted to make her pay for it

    Or 2. It was someone who wanted to get back at her father for some past incident against him or a family member.

    And I am with you tobefree...I would gladly tell the family to keep the reward as long as this POS swings/fries/drools or whatever for this heinous act

    This is one important reason why wife and Perfect Daughter Deanna have been taking Karate lessons for the past several years. Wife is a second degree Green Belt - next is Brown, and Daughter is second degree Brown Belt - next is Black.

    I pity any guy who tries to get physical with either of them. He WILL be hospitalized.

    I feel so sorry for the Family, and pray for the Daughter.

    If you recall the stories about Ted Bundy. He killed gals buy getting them to help him load something into his car and then hitting them on the head to knock them out.

    This gal may have been hit in the head in the same way, from behind and with surprise! No amount of defense training will help a woman in that situation, Only being aware of your surroundings when you get into your car will help you here. Check out you surroundings before going to the car and on the way and get in quick and lock the door fast, if at night.

    I tell people the same thing. The thug most likely wont pull the trigger in the parking lot anyway. He wants to rape then kill, not just kill with lots of witnesses. Chances of surving a gun shot or stab wound are much higher in a parking lot of a store than out in the middle of nowhere. Women need to be taught this!

    May he fry in hell, a neighbor gave the information about who he was. I don't think it was a good idea to put out how they tracked her with her cell phone now other killers will know to get rid of the phones. Quick trial prove beyond a dough and shoot the juice to him.[:(!][V][xx(][:(]

    I really don't know what to say here, But I am pretty sure this guy rehearsed this attack at least in his head. What made this particualr girl a target may never be known...
    She was hot no doubt about that. But I figure being in the wrong place at the wrong time was more her undoing than her looks or clothes. Obviously some one was going to be attacked...
    Personally I thank God the guy was such an idiot. He left clues that a blind man could follow... Iwas pretty sure the creep would be caught from all that evedence that only a freaking moron would have left behind....It is too bad and I am failing to see why this isn't a capital crime....

    Actually a young woman in New England was found stashed in a hidden room. Best amend that to "usually."
