s-f, I have bought two new ones (and a few used ones):
'69 conv't, 2 tops, 350-350 - $5200.
'00 conv't loaded - $51,000.
I wish my salary kept up with that!0 -
Indepedant delivery on a vehicle nowdays runs about $1.per mi.[:(] 0 -
Wow. I think I paid that much tax on my last one! 0 -
I believe the minimum wage in 1974 was $1.35. 0 -
i was making 5.00 an hour in 74. and that was good apprentice pay on worksites.
that sticker puts it at twice the average for a car back then. you could have a chevy 350 2wd work truck with a utility body for 3 grand.
thus the old collecting rule....if it was expensive then, its expensive now.
i remember my dad teaching me it took 4 years to pay off a car loan, then it fell apart. at the rate i made money, that vette would have taken me 2 to 3 years of savings. stupid goal. especailly since 74 was the gas crisis. they couldnt dump those guzzlers fast enough. i stuck to a 69 in line 6 sst javelin.0 -
so how much money did/are u going to make off this puppy? i know it has to be more right, than what you paid? 0 -
The cost of that AM/FM radio is equal to $1150 in todays money [:0]. The entire car is equal to $32,500 so it was a steal back then compared to what you'd pay for a new Corvette convertable today. 0 -
A Corvette with a four in the floor for $7800.
I'll take one!0 -
I had a 91 Oldsmobile Toronado Trofeo
When I bought it, it still had the window sticker. $41,500 brand new in 91.
Ouch.0 -

74' #36,596 is right here one of the last 74's made. been here since oct.74' 39,000 miles original down too the windsheild wiper blades. when i picked it up new there was a 454 orange coupe right next to my convertible that was also waiting to be picked up still think about that one. the build sheet on top of the gas tank shows what the order was when it ran down the assembly line. my car had the build sheet from the car before or after so maybe there was a mix up and the local chevy dealer called when it became available. st.louis assembly line the best cars ever made went down that line 0
