Congrats Kevin! Even if he is a little guy[:D]. Just messing with ya, from my few years of hunting experience where I hunt I have learned to shoot what I see because there is a chance I won't see anymore that year.[;)]

You might end up with a couple of venison burgers out of that little fawn but mom's gonna be lonesome tonight

I haven't been yet.. to warm. I get a kick out of hunters in SC that have to have a 300 win mag or 7MM mag to kill a deer. Cripe a .22 Mag will do one in. I use the Mini .30 or deer slugs cause most shots are less than 100 yd. I didn't see a tag on it ..

    Good hunting.

When I moved to North Carolina and went on my first deer hunt down there. I laughed and went home. For the deer were no bigger than pygmy goats.

Saw about the same thing happen when a Friend from Michigan came down to hunt here in West Virginia. He thought that the deer were small compared to Southern Canada and Northern Michigan.

But it was like he said. A deer in his "back yard" may live 3 or 4 years before a human ever lays eyes on it due to so much remote areas. Take the area that I live in, I would say that less than 75% of the bucks do not live past the age of three before being killed by hunters.

So I will agree with anyone who claims that the farther South you go the smaller the deer become.

    Nice shooting!
Did he fit in your game pouch?
Seriously, go hunting with someone that knows how to gut a deer and watch him do it. It is EASY! It takes 5-10 minutes and helps the cooling of the meat, right now! It also does lessen the weight too!!
When are you going back out?
I will be back out bright and early tomarrow![^]

And if I get something like that tomarrow I do not even have to use a doe tag on it as it is an either sex day![:D]

    Good luck!

    g-r-d,

Now don't listen to the hecklers![:D] When you ain't trophy huntin' and looking to fill the fridge...young and tender is how you want em.[^][;)][:D]

Make mine a nice a tender doe tho...[^][;)]
I think the heckelers are just jelous that I have got a jump on them as far as filling my freezer this year![;)][:D][:o)]

And filling my freezer is the primary reason I hunt so I will take what I can get![;)]

Now if a big trophy does happen to come along I will take that too![;)][;)]
