    yes they did. until the whole "reefer madness" campaign came out. The effects of that propaganda campaign can still be seen today even among the educated.

    Of course, non-goverment sanctioned propaganda campaigns have managed to perpetuate racism also.

    alcohol is worse for every part of your body, except the lungs, than smoking marijuana. I wouldn't recommend either.

    Refer Madness came out in 1936.
    True that it was propaganda. Today we much better understand the effects of marijuana addiction, especially long term.
