How do I disassemble a 1911 mag for spring maintenance?

  I'll paraphrase it for you:
  
  Push the follower down about 2 inches with a pencil or a dowel rod, and stick a screwdriver or something skinny in the 2nd set of holes down on the front of the magazine to hold the spring in place. Then pull the follower off the top of the spring and pull it forward (relative to the magazine) to remove it from the magazine body. Then pull the skinny object you used to hold the spring down and pull the spring out.
