I just got a 1999 Saturn SL2, twin cam, 4 door, 35+mpg! It has 90k miles on it. It has zero pickup, but i dont drive real fast, i just needed something to get back and forth between work. It drives really smooth, its silver, paint looks brand new, interior is perfect, and it has nice speakers, ill be taking out the stereo and putting in my Pioneer head unit on friday. Ive got some pioneer speakers but ill think ill pass them on to him along with my subwoofers and amp. Thanks for asking! 0 -
nobody wants to hate, or praise the almighty saturn? 0 -
cool, just curious. only heard good comments about saturns 0 -
it was a choice between the saturn and the camry, the camry had 94k miles and needed both front axles replaced, and the paint was chipping a little. the saturn, not one thing wrong with it. the camry was also 1100 more than the saturn. 0 -
We owned a Saturn for a long time. It was a 1992 an we put 160,000 miles on it before the first thing went wrong. The $40 water pump that took me 3 hours to fix. [:D]
We traded it in on a used 1996 model that we put another 50K on before we had to trade it for a 4X4 cuz the wife couldn't drive the Saturn in the snow.0 -
i just got back from cruising for about an hour and half 2 hours with my brother. Car has a little more power than i thought, you just have to get on it hard. Very comfortable! Rides realy smooth, im gonna go get an oil change tommorow, i need to adjust the left headlight to point up more. Drove for two hours and used a little less than a quarter tank. 0 -
I also forgot to mention, i jewed him down 800 dollars, hes gonna throw in 2 free new tires up front, and hes gonna install my Head unit tommorow, all for free. [:D][:D] 0 -

Dang that's a high dollar labor repair on a yoter! And a PITA to do in the driveway. BTDT! With only 94K on the odometer sounds like someone had been dogging the heck out of it. (tuner?) I'd a passed on it too!

most likely, i didnt even test drive it, i looked at them both yesterday, thought about it all night, and called in the morning and told him to clean the damn saturn up for me.

We sold my wife's 1996 SL2 and got a new Durango, hated it and traded it in less that 1 year later (and a $15k loss) for an Eddie Bauer Exepdition. We love the Expedition! 11.5 MPG! WOO the F HOO!
My Charger gets 15 MPG though, so it evens out.

My 90 Ranger gets anywhere from 11 to 25 mpg, depending on the weather (really, not kidding).
My 01 Grand Marquis gets anywhere from 19 to 25 mpg, depending on how much foot I use.
My 81 CB900 gets at least 35 mpg, but then I run the risk of getting wet.0
