    I see no problem with it's use. What horrifies me is
    the push to go in the extreme other direction ... and
    talk, talk, talk, talk to them. I'd bet there'd be many
    fewer child molesters if that was the primary means
    of dealing with them.

    I used to room in a dormitory where a bunch of law school students roomed and the subject of flogging came up occasionally. According to what I heard from them was that the State of Delaware was the last to allow corporal punishment. According to them the practice was stopped around 1918-1920. One interesting case was when the judge sentenced a culprit to five years and fifteen lashes. The defendant began to cry and beg the judge to sentence him to more years and no lashes. There weren't any weight rooms, television and Playboy then either.
