Fond Memory From My Youth.....
When I was a kid Dad had a 12 ga, 3" mag., 36" barreled single shot. Weighed about 6 pounds.. Horrible stock shape, no recoil pad, kicked like a stinkin' mule..... Anyhoooo, I had a friend over, we were about 13 yrs old..... I sneak out the big single shot, (big sighs of admiration from said friend), and touch off a light trap load. No problem. This other kid (whom I should mention had never fired a gun before), decided that it would be great fun to fire the behemoth.... I, of course, convinced him (very easily) that this was indeed a good plan. I then reached into my pocket for a cartridge, and sorted thru them until I found one of them 3" Magnum, 2 ounce copper plated, buffered, long range super duper nitro glycerin and TNT nuclear goose loads..... This kid loads the gun (chuckle #1), cocks the hammer (chuckle #2), and assumes his firing position (chuckle #3). We've all seen people do this, you know, feet together, upper torso leaned back, neck extended towards the muzzle like a frickin' snappin' turtle, limp wristed hold on the gun.... I commence the countdown (no kiddin', I started at 10....) and at the "FIRE" command he drops the hammer.... The tremendous roar from the muzzle, coupled with the shriek of pain from the hapless victim, I will never forget.... Not only did the shotgun fly from his grasp (and I was prepared, and caught said shotgun before gravity could cause it harm), but he also fell to the ground, holding his shoulder and moaning like a beotch in heat..............[:D]
Hope you enjoyed,
Greg

Done the same to a few friends...
Isreal makes (made?) some training rounds in 7.62x51 (308) that were primers, a little powder, and a purple wooden bullet. No recoil.
Buddies were talkin about how "you can fire the AR15/M16 wiht the butt on your nose and not hurt it", so I whipped out my 308 bolt gun, loaded one of hte training rounds, said "Hey y'all watch this", put the butt of the stock to my crotch and pulled the trigger. No big deal right? So then I pull out a 168grn match hollowpoint load, load the rifle up, pass it to my nearest "friend" and tell him its his turn [8D] [:D] [8D] [}:)]0 -
it's like seeing a guy hit in the private area, its always funny no matter what and you know how it felt.
i have see your fun before and LMAO
When i started dateing my wife her father found out i was big into hunting and shooting and he couldn't be happier. well her previous boyfriend sure helped. i still get a laugh now and then about this. my father in law use to call this guy "Girly Man" which stemed from a day when the guy was bragging about shooting a .22. so he said how would you like to try shooting my gun. sure enough the old mossberg 3 1/2 pump spun him around and he fell on his arse. even knowing i was a hunter he still tried to get me. first goose hunt we went out together on i was shotting my old rem 1100 2 3/4 when he said here try this! no problem - - goose down!!!0 -
Did the same to a guy with an old 12ga. long tom that had an old hand whittled oak stock on it.[:)][:)][8D] 0 -
my mother lived on a farm in the 30's and the 'boys,'(my uncles, her brothers,) let mom shoot the crackshot once when she was 10. never holding a gun before, mom put the butts comb up to her eye and fired. it almost took her face off. can you say ouch?
the 'boys' got whipped by great-granddad for that stunt. then when granddad got home, they got whipped again! and mom never forgot it.
it wasnt until i was about to go off to the military did mom shoot a gun again. we went in the woods and shot my dads iver johnson 12ga sbs. she held it under her armpit and blasted old buckets with me. #6 shot field loads too.[^] good ole mom.0 -

Not to hijack this thread, but my FIL was the same way. My wife's first husband was very anti-gun. One of the first questions to come out of my FIL's mouth when we met was if I wanted to see his gun collection. I don't know if it was done in an attempt to scare me or if it was done to test me, but I jumped at the opportunity... later that day we were on the porch taking shots at crows. Been about 6-1/2 years since then, and we still like each other well enough.0 -
FIL's Gun Collection?
Too bad you didn't tell your FIL that he had a nice bunch of WEAPONS. Maybe he could have set you straight.0 -
Great story.... 0 -

Oh go wet yourself. A gun is a weapon. Grow up.0 -
Had my brother do that to me one time when we were shooting clays, stock actually smacked my face and busted my lip open. My brother almost hurt himself when he fell to the ground laughing. 0 -

You ignorance is showing.
So is your lack of maturity. Like I said, grow up.0 -
Those are great stories.
The only time I did anything like that was when I took my first BIL out on the levees of the Sacramento river to shoot my first Model 29 .44 Remington Magnum.
First chamber was a .44 Special target wadcutter, which I shot - the rest were 240 grain jacketed hollow point Magnums, of which he shot ONE - howling with pain, holding his wrist tucked into his belly and simultaneously dropping my beautiful Smith into the slough. Two hours for me to find it and dig it out of the mud.
I never did anything like that, again.

That's painful to just read... hopefully the Smith came out unscathed.0 -
You caught it? So this is fiction, right? 0 -
Paid a 'smith to detail strip and clean it, but it carried some scratches on that beautiful blue that never left.
When you act stoopid, you pay.

As I already told you, "a gun" is no more "a weapon" then a bag of Jello. Take your Blackhawk for example. Never been used in combat, therefore NOT a weapon. You appear to be the one that needs some maturity. You seem to have an adolescents fascination with the word WEAPON.
For a self proclaimed "educated" fella you seem to suffer from Epistemophobia. It is treatable. Perhaps you should seek help.0
