Old U.S. Flags - Gone!

I fly Old Glory every day - weather permitting - outside of our home. Today, I purchased flag #4 since we've been out here, just less than 3 years. The two news one I purchased before this one got a little worn - not tattered or ripped - and could have used a stitch or two and a little cleaning. Trust me, these are not the totally abused and forgotten filthy carcases (a sacrilege IMO) that you see flapping around in tatters outside a lot of gas stations and convenience stores.

So my question is this:

If anyone out there would like one great - it's yours and I'll send it off to you with my thanks. If anyone can see to it that one of these two U.S. flags receive a fitting, reverent and proper send-off, again, I'll send one to you.

First two responders have dibs.

    A guy I know, says he's a vet, just strung a flag up between two nails on the outside of his house and LEFT IT THERE FOR GOING ON FIVE YEARS NOW.

    He never takes it down, rain or shine, and I have never seen him wash it, patch it up, or do anything other than just leave it there. The flag is faded and worn through with holes and every time I tell him that he ought to treat it with more respect, I get a big lecture on how he was a vet, he served his country, so he knows how to respect a flag.

    Any suggestions on what I should tell him to get him to treat the flag better?

    I would leave it alone. He is obviously proud of that Flag and although he could have installed a flag pole with lights, atleast he isn't one of those stupid flag burners.

    Looks like I am too late, however if you happen to come upon some more you want to give away I will take all you can get and they will go to the Patriot Guard Riders for their flag lines at the funerals of soldiers, police officers, and firefighters around the nation.

    No, he's not a flag burner, that's for sure. But in some ways, I consider what he is doing to be worse than that since active disrespect takes some effort as opposed to plain old neglect.

    My thanks to dheffley, EhlerDave and those of you who replied to this post. I'm glad these two flags will have good homes and still "fly" instead of ending up properly destroyed by the local VFW Post. A win-win.
