Anyone listeneing to some good music lately?
Been getting musically bored as of late. Radio universally sucks everywhere, I can't afford sattelite (yet), but I still have my CDs!
Been listening to a lot of old reggae. Surprised the hell out of a co-worker when I put on Toots and the Maytals at lunch. The theme to A&Es "Miami Ink" is one of their songs, "Funky Kingston." They did a great version of "Country Roads". Going home for Memorial Day weekend, I can drag out my dusty old Desmond Dekker records.
I was in an odd music slump for about a year and a half. All I wanted to listen to was Rush, bluegrass, and punk. I think I may be getting into ne of those.

dont waste your $ on satellite, I gave it up. still has comericals ,no matter what they say
Sure, 200 channels, each one has a 12 song playlist0 -
Was listening to Zug Izland on my way to work. Good stuff. 0 -
I like my Sirius so far...have not gotten bored with it yet. Other than that I listen to my Country CD's and some gospel stuff. With the occasional heavy metal. 0 -
I am with you on the Chili Peppers. keep pooping out the crap, stations here are required to play 1 out of every 4 songs
How many times can a human take that?[:D]0 -
Fu Manchu, The Melvins.
I went through the same thing a few months ago. here's the solution!

there's puh-lenty of good music out there. why doesn't it get played on the radio? prolly because they didn't pay them to! I think all that dusty old stuff gets played constantly cuz it costs them less per song to play it. 0 -
Can't get much better than "The Lumberjack Song" from Monty Python or the theme from Blackadder. 0 -

I have had XM for about 3 years or more and I love it.
Yes there are a couple short comercials an hour but no where near the amount of regular radio.
Since I got it I have never used my CD player or listened to my regular radio.0 -
I'm a huge music lover. I have to have it on all the time, unless I'm sleeping.
Lately, I've been listening to:
Tool
Classic Pink Floyd, the rarely heard, not-so-common, Floyd
Traffic
Ten Years After
Wishbone Ash
Rainbow
Uriah Heep
Mott The Hoople
There is TONS of good music out there!0 -
Personally I'm a big Aerosmith fan. I've noticed that if I go too long without listening to some I get irritable. Try their newest 'blues' CD "Honkin On Bobo". Real good stuff, especially if you're looking for something different. 0 -
My subscription to XM ran out right after the merger agreement with them and Sirius. Didn't renew. Gonna let all that play out and see what emerges from the dust. They have said that each system's "old" equipment will not be compatible with the new system that comes out of the merger. But I haven't missed it. Loaded my MP3 player up with what I like and use the cassette adaptor that came with my XM radio to play it through the speakers in my jeep. Got it loaded up with lots of Journey, Kansas, Rush, Lynard Skynard, 38 Special, Molly Hatchet, AC/DC, Poison, Pure Prairie League, Santana, Eric Clapton, etc. None of that new music for me! 0 -
Why yes, I was listening to some good music on Saturday.
I was at a house that had high speed internet and was able to access youtube.
I fired up Pentangle from 1970. I got to watch them play "Hunting Song" and "Willy of Winsbury." Now that is some good music.
As for Red Hot Chili Peppers, for me oversaturation occurs about ten seconds into their first song.0 -
My daughter came by last weekend, brought me a three CD album of Beethoven's Piano Concertos. All of them. Spent Sunday listening to the Emperor. 0 -

I'm a little older, little more laid back I guess, I just listen to Eagles, Doobie's, Billy Joel, Elton John. Sometimes a little Bob Seiger (but the wife doesn't like him). I'll even put a Mo Town CD in now and again, but like I said, older than dirt here. 0 -
Find ya some Cross Canadian Ragweed. They've got eight or nine albums out. It'll take some time to explore them fully.
I've been listening to my two-year-old sing.
That's sweet, sweet music.
I'm liking Gomez lately.
Michelle Branch has a nice side project called "The Wreckers". I'm liking that.
ZZ Top and Brooks & Dunn were on CMT's "Crossroads" last night.
My daughter absolutely ate that up.0 -
Area 33 on Sirius - Techno, I've been getting into that lately. There are like 6 techno channels on Sirius, but only 33 is mostly lyric free.
I doubt I'll renew the subscription that came with the charger though.
