My daddy always says "if you have to ask how much, don't bother because it costs too much".[:D]

Nice piece you have, can I borrow your blue book? [:)] When I am shopping I am looking more at the sellers or dealers quality of firearms. I ask questions if interested. And above all , not upset the seller. I may see a gun they have at a later date that is a bargain.

I think HobbyGuy is right. I have tested this a few times with a friend or my wife and gotten different price quotes on the same guns. I don't even bother to browse those tables now. I just keep walking. I am sure some just don't know what they are worth but if they can't do a little research or look in the Blue Book I don't bother.

This is just one of the things that give gun shows a bad name. Another is the fact that they dont grade their guns like you have to on an online auction. If you ask a guy if the wood is original at a gun show, they can just say yes. Online, a reputable seller (backed with good feedback) will call it to the best of their ability, or no sale and neg feedback. I am more confident buying online than at a show. Gunbroker and others auctions, have got to be puttin a hurtin on gun shows.

Too easy... If 8 yr olds are watching the tables take a good supply of X-Box games with you and deal....
Here in Ohio we have the same thing. Dealers can get more in some locations than others and they know it. At some of the smaller shows you can get good buys from the same dealer that won't talk turkey at the big shows... Both my gunshow buddy and I have commented on this in the past... I have yet to figure out why they don't hold it for the bigger shows. Hungry????? But if a gun catchs my eye I always ask.. if it is too high I get my hurt puppy poker face on and the haggle begins...

And if you guys haven't ever attended a smaller show and you love the older stuff like I do... check them out...

If someone has a genuine interest, they will ask. The tire kickers and time wasters that always offer you less than the sticker price just to see what you will say and then walk off won't bother you.

It obviously works just like it suppose to.[;)]

Around here, for the most part, it's gotten so that Gun Show prices are so out-of-reach (and reason) that one can browse the local gun shops for outrageously priced guns and NOT have to pay an admission charge. [:(]

Same here. Maybe that's why they call them Gun SHOWS instead of Gun SALES [:(!]

I experienced the exact same thing at the Little Rock show over the weekend. These guy's could make a few buck's if they'd keep their head in the game. I generally carry at least a grand with me, just in case I do hapen to find something at a decent price. Ammo is about all I ever buy. I guess these guy's don't realize that internet seller's are willing to deal.
