I had the 870 racked within seconds of hearing it, and was downstairs pretty quick as well. I wish I could have settled it as well, I'm just glad the 2 bedrooms are on the second floor, so I had the high ground and the family was safe. My old dog just fell asleep after doing a full patrol around the yard.

very good man, what kind of shells in the 870?

PS. my 870;s got an 18.5 inch barrel, whats yours got?

    hands down, my favorite shotgun!

18.5" barrel. First 2 are bird shot, the next is 00 buck and the last is a slug because if the other 3 didn't do the trick, I figure I'll want something with a bigger punch.

*update* Cops came back and said there was nothing else they could do tonight, but they'd keep a patrol in the area and they'd be back in the morning to fill out some stuff. Is it normal to wait until morning?

Now would be the perfect time to lose that "Harmon Kardon" reciever, Polk speakers, and that Colt Python that you had on the coffe table.....[;)]

On subject of burglars, I wonder if booby traps and stuff are legal...

Nope booby traps aren't legal, and neither is self defense in NY.[:(!][xx(] So, I am somewhat happy with not having it get to that point tonight.

I'm moving to the Keys, most likely by the end of this month. Better laws, better weather, and drinks on the beach. Can't beat it IMHO.

You got the nail right on the head there. I'm surprised the cops didn't try to take me away in handcuffs for having an "evil black assault shotgun" [xx(]

Ouch.. 2 I looked into them, they're not cheap at all. I'm not sure how we're doing it yet. But they're on the list

yea, i just couldnt think of any feasible way to move a 4 bedroom 2 story house with all the junk weve collected in the 14 years we lived there. they were not cheap. the way they drop them off is cool. its a truck, and this rectangle thing with only 3 sides hooks to the pod and lifts it off the truck, they move the truck, and drop it down.

Glad you and family are OK, hurry on south, most southern states have very broad right to defend life and property laws. In GA, you could have cut him in half and gotten a good citizen award from the local cops. To them it's one less scumbag to keep re arresting while the liberal courts turn them loose.

i think he deserves a good breakfast

I actually live in a good neighborhood out in the woods, and everything. The only bad thing is, we're about an hour away from the city, and we're within a half hour drive of 3 "hoods" where there are shootouts every night.

I have an 11 year old border collie, and he got an excellent breakfast and we even let him jump in the pool to cool off earlier, and we're most likely taking him up to the lake later to go swimming. Everybody is just relieved that it turned out alright.
