Do not call list
Anybody else get this e-mail? Got it from a friend, but was a huge forward. Don't know if it is for real or not.

We recently changed our phone number and started getting bothersome calls from a wireless phone company. We`ve never done business with them and don`t want to.We registered the number on the do not call list and asked them to quit calling repeatedly.It has been several months since we registered and they still keep calling.The caller ID just come up as Florida call.No number,just Florida call. I`d like to file a complant,but can`t without a number.Does anyone here know how I can get the number?I`m thinking of calling the phone company tomorrow to see if they can give it to me. Any other ideas? 0 -
Call the operator and tell them hat's going on and I think they can block the number. I had a problem and they did it for me. I think they can still see the phone number. Give it a shot. 0 -
we got rid of about all by eliminating a house phone & running only cell phones...post on state & local donotcall lists which takes some time to get in gear...also when we changed to 911 address here we forgot to go to county courthouse & sign nocall on voter registration address update lists...just check box.... alltell cell service does not give out ## in kansas...i have filed complaints with state atttorney general consumer division with results 0 -

We signed up on the DoNotCall lists, and although the calls are fewer, they do still happen. Reporting them is difficult at best, and seems to make no difference... 0 -
Set your phone up to not accept blocked calls!
It does cost a couple dollars a month but can be worth it!0 -
I don't know how it works or how it's done, but the place to complain is the Federal Trade Commission. They have a web site, you just have to find it. Good luck. 0 -

I've got a guy in town who keeps putting my phone number on his credit applications, and when he defaults (repeatedly over the last ten years), and his creditors call me looking for him, I tell them that this person does not live here and that he's been doing this for ten years. I guess I shouldn't complain too loud, I could always change my number...... 0 -
i have reported some that called every day, it must work they dont call anymore, was told the fine was around 15k$ 0 -

Which do not call list did you sign up for. There is a national list and a local state list. If you signed up for the national list your call might be coming from inside your state. as long as a company calls within its state they are not required to check the federal list. Check to see if your state has a DNC list. 0 -
I signed up on the National list.I live in Michigan and the call is comeing from Florida. 0 -
I signed onto one of those no call list.Now I get calls all the times of day and night. Guess what. Got caught in a scam. The list was sold to phone boiler rooms.
Got a new call screener, stops any calls from numbers I have not programed in. Ahhhhhhhh sweet silence. Seems I've forgoten all the relations I don't want to hear from.[:D][}:)][}:)]0 -
Get the telezapper - it works! Most telemarking companies use their war dialers to find out when you are home, then have a live person call back during these times. The telezapper plays the "disconnected" tones every time you answer the phone (indluding the answering machine). Within a couple of weeks our calls died down to 0. 0
