new job assignment in cali

tatercats
just started my new job at toyota and they assigned me to Fremont California (the plant where they make the matrix and Pontiac vibe) at the end of september

im only there for 9 months but i think it will be hard for this country boy from indiana to adapt

wish me luck

anybody from around there?

    Fremont is in the Bay area so I don't get up there very often. Where are you going to live because the cost of living in that area is among the highest in the lower 48 states? If I can recall Fremont is supposed to be one of the most racial diverse cities of it's size in the USA, as well as having a wide range of religions (including Islam). Based on those qualities you probably won't run into too many Gun Broker members in Fremont!

    Fremont isn't a big deal.......just another city. Don't sweat it. LOTS of cool things to do in CA. If I could afford a house, I would still be there!

    I'm in Campbell, FrancF is just over the hill near Watsonville,
    there are a couple of us in the neighborhood.

    E-mail me when you have settled in, we'll get a cup of
    coffee and I'll fill you in on the local ranges and gun shops.

    When you get a chance, try Seto Sushi - one of the best Japanese joints in Bay Area, not just for sushi too.

    Stay out of berkeley and san fran, and you'll be alright :) Besides, I see there're some locals for you to hang out with there.

    im from the fort wayne area and am training in erlanger KY right now

    they assign me there for 9 months then I get to pick my top 3 places-definelty going to princeton or georgetown maybe buffalo WV

    i will do that-to bad gun laws in Cali is more strict that Indiana

    not a seafood fan so no sushi for me

    Check the laws before you go, calguns.net and packing.org are good resources to start as for what and how you can bring stuff in, even temporarily.

    No sushi, then no sushi :) probably not worth going there then, their steak is good, but you can get better some other places.

    When I was running around down there, Fremont had a pretty decent drag strip, as did Half Moon Bay. So did Vacaville - Vaca Valley Drag Strip.

    They have likely have all gone away.
