...Are these shipping containers, like those on cargo ships? A lot of grain is shipped in them now. We wedge rough 2x12's in the rear and line that with cardboard sheets. They're loaded with a horizontal auger, almost as high as the container, as the truck creeps forward.
...Close the doors, truck it to the river terminal, down to the docks and on a ship.

assume they are containers but there is only one on a trailer with rear of frame & triple rear axles open & empty...no truck stops around here & have never seen any of these but in passing on the highway...doesn't make sense to me to haul 1/2 a trailer empty or loaded , especially with several trucks headed in same direction????...any conspiracy theories out there???....maybe it's so simple just having a senior moment

When I worked in thr recycling industry we would load those small containers with electric motors. They would only get about half full when they would get to the max. weight limit.

...Even those short containers can easily be loaded with corn, wheat or beans to gross at 80,000#. Our elevator used to ship everything in hopper bottom semis, but has gone to almost 100% containers. Even some of the outfits with rail access are using them instead of the rail.

...Probably 1/3 of the trucks I see around here are hauling grain. Another third are dumps from the rock quarry. Tearing the roads up something awful.

The public just found out that the military has been transporting nukes on airplanes across the country so the military has to lay low for awhile. The trucks will continue for a month or so until the public forgets.
