Chair Creep

Our lazy-boy recliner continuously works its way to the wall. Usually in a day or two we need to pull it out again. It is on a rug. Does anyone have this issue and a way to fix it?

    "L" brackets. Screw to floor, screw to chair leg.

    Mine moves, too. I just pull it out from the wall every few weeks.

    use velco on base let it stick to rug
    sit gently do not flop

    Seem to have the same problem here. Without screwing it to the floor, the only fix seems to be not to flop down in the chair.

    Yes, I had the same problem and here's how I dealt with the situation. You'll need 2ea 1/4" eye bolts, 2ea 16d nails, a roll of #9 wire, and the following tools. An electric drill w/ 1/4" bit, hammer, and pliers. With your drill, drill 2- 1/4" holes into the rocker assemby of your chair. Insert and tighten eyebolts. Thread the #9 wire through each eyebolt and extend wire across room in opposite direction that the chair moves. Hammer in the 2 16d nails halfway, to a wall stud, preferably low to floor as to not trip Grandma. Twist #9 wire around each nail, and bend remaining nail over. You'll find that this will hold your lounge chair in place and gives your room that rustic look.

    What a great idea! I was thinking of mounting some old jets from the salvage yard to the back of the chair and then I'll just spin them up when I need to move it forward but your idea would be cheaper!
