Golden Corral offered free dinners to vets and active duty military personnel. We took Travis to dinner, and he got to eat free. The joint was CROWDED.

It is called CORPORATE GREED. It should be law, That if the US Goverment takes a holiday, then companies and corporations should have to acknowledge the holiday and pay their employees respectfully or pay triple time wages to employees who are forced to work.

I have not taken one veteran's day off since I left the service...until this year (celebrated today) and I was too sick to work...central nervous system problems from my time in the Gulf.

I was really bugged that I had to work today. How about if there is a new law that states that you must show a copy of your DD214 before you get the day off with pay?

I was in the U.S. Navy for five years and was glad to serve my country. After living outside of the country fro 27 years, it is kind cool to be back and Veterans Day is a meaningful day for me. It is up to others to decide how they want to celebrate or note it in a significant way. And one thing I did was go to the shooting range!

    That is an understatement!

We went and were there before 5pm and there was allready no place to park and the lines were halfway across the parking lot!

I would estimate there was about 400 or more there for dinner when we got there and when we left after dinner the line was still just as long!

The young marines in Cleveland served a free lunch for the vets on Sunday. Not many came as the Browns game was on.
