Thoughts On Bipods ??
worth putting one on my howa 30-06 ?? how much accuracy do they give you ?

I have bipods on three long guns.
they help you keep your gun steady.

A bipod will not increase the accuracy of your Howa, however a bipod will increase the accuracy of the shooter by helping to steady the gun. Go ahead and purchase one if your hunting situation warrents the use of a bipod. I have enjoyed Harris bipods over the years, they have a great prodoct at a good price. 0 -
My $.02 - get a bipod with a rotating base, which will help you level the gun on uneven terrain without fiddling with the legs and such. 0 -
are they easy to put on and take off for times you dont want it ? 0 -

I paid $60 for my bipod and I really wish I'd popped the extra $30 for one that rotates.
and to answer your next question: mine comes on or off in about 15 second.
Now, who made mine? I'm embarrassed to say I don't remember. Harris? Burris? Something that ends in 'is', I think.0 -

Harris's cannt/pan/tilt side to side, to help keep gun level, roto pod's swivel and cannt side to side but do not elevate as much, versa pod is about the same as roto pod, but you'll need special adapter that has to say on your stock, the Harris will attach to the swivel studs that are on the rifle and can be used in conjuntion with your sling. there is a cheaper generic Harris, SHOOTERS i think? look the same funtion the same build a little less beefy about 2/3 the price0 -

harris with the tilt/pan for field shooting. get the tall one if it is grassy where you hunt.
as for the accuracy, they are the standard for most sniper type matchs0 -
I had a Harris bipod on a rifle once. I loved it. I could pop it on and off with the twist of a slotted screw. I'd tighten and loosen it for removal or installation with a quarter. I attach it to the sling swivel of any gun when doing sight-in work. I even put one on my muzzleloader. 0 -
